My mother's good news
Hello ladies, Once again, I wanted to share the good news with you because I know how important it is to see positive stories and examples. Today we got my mother's PET results (her last PET scan was in September 2022) and they showed stable disease. She will continue taking Olaparib. We are beyond

UK based warriors, what was your second line of treatment offered after Ibrance and Letrozole?
Hi, my Ibrance+ Letrozole stopped working after 2 years 3 months. If you have the same diagnoses and the same drugs for your 1st line of treatment and live in the UK, please let me know what was your second line. Thank you. My dx is MBC ER/PR+ HER2- age 47 postmenopausal ( oophorectomy) lesions

Hi from the UK
I’ve recently been diagnosed with Lobular BC in the right side, will be going for lumpectomy & node removal next week. I’m here to learn more about LBC and what to watch for in the future, plus make sure my cancer team are ‘on the ball’ with up to date lobular treatments etc. They’ve already told

Wondering about meds for high cholesterol
Hi fellow warriors, I have been on Letrozole and Ibrance for the last 2 years. I was diagnosed stage 4 de novo in late 2014. Mets were in liver only. I did Taxol, Herceptin and Perjeta for about 4 months, then Herceptin , Perjeta and Faslodex until 2019. I then was able to do just the Faslodex until

Hi ….from a newly dx’d comrade from the UK
I’m 56 and I’ve recently been dx’d with lobular ER+ breast cancer (2cm), go back to see consultant on Monday for MRI results. I have a lumpectomy & sentinel lymph node removal scheduled for the 28th March. Drs Initial plan was for removal, tamoxifen & chemo….but that may have changed since MRI

Detection of a bacterial infection: Procalcitonin test
How to figure out if antibiotics should be considered ? There is a blood test measuring levels of Procalcitonin: if it is below 0.1 ng/mL, a bacterial infection is very unlikely, so antibiotics would be of no help. My question is: how reliable is this indicator, especially on the false negative side

Lump on back after chest drain
When i developed a pleural effusion last June the hospital did a couple of drains before fitting me with a semi-permanent drain. A few weeks ago I developed a lump under the skin, exactly where the hospital drains were done. This lump is growing quite quickly and is now very painful. I had an ultrasound

Missing dose
I have returned from travel with a cold- tested negative for COVID. I have Herceptin / perjeta in 2 days, I know I will not be better and I am worried they will tell me not to come in ( I am calling nurse tomorrow). Is it ok to miss dose? If they delay do they delay for a week or miss that dose

xeloda and appetite
I'm on round 4 of Xeloda and my appetite is very poor. I'm losing weight which isn't good. Most foods just sound "gross" to me. Rice, pasta, cereals and yogurts are good but not enough protein/carbs. Anyone have some ideas on foods that have what I need and may be appealing to me? thanks.

Pleural Effusion
I live in the UK. Mbc diagnosed in August 2022, not been diagnosed with cancer before. I have mets to lungs which has caused a pleural effusion. In November 2022 I had a permanent indwelling pleural catheter fitted. District nurses come twice a week to drain the fluid. Does anyone else have one

Lumps from fulvestrant shots
I still have lumps from the past 4 months. How do I get them to go away? It is getting harder for the nurse to find a spot to inject and it is painful when she does. Thank you.
