DBS - deep brain stimulation for Dystonia
Has anyone on here experienced or has DBS plz - I know mainly it’s for Parkinson’s but they do it for Dystonia too & wondered if anyone had the procedure or had any advice plz - I’m yet to have Botox so any advice on that would be most helpful too - or herbal remedies ? Maybe cannabis oil !

Crazy Neck Pain and Headaches Post Viral Meningitis
Hi all, 42 yr, female. I was diagnosed with viral meningitis in August 2019. After almost 7 months I am still dealing with the headaches, major neck pain and light sensitivity. There are days I feel like I could run a marathon (ok... not really a marathon but I feel pretty good!) and other times

HAS ANYONE WITH PD HAD SPINAL CORD STIMULATOR IMPLANTED FOR POSTURE CORRECTION,PAIN MODULATION AND MOTOR FUNCTION?
Hi,friends, this procedure might be relatively new. I have read that it is similarly to DBS,but it targets the spinal cord instead of the brain.I was wondering,if anyone had this procedure done, please share your experience. How effective is it?Is it safer ,compared to DBS? Thanks in advance.

Poor response to medication
My specialist is not happy with my response to taking 10 Kinson per day, neither am I. He is sending me for an MRI of the brain, then I go into hospital, go off all Parkinson meds for 18 hours so he can see the results. He is considering me as a candidate for Deep Brain stimulation and this scares

Light Interview
Dear Ladies. I have been to light Sheffield today to offer my services. They said they don’t want me to do peer support work at the moment, whilst I am getting counselling myself. She has asked me whether I want to become an ambassador and do some admin work for them. I have taken all my qualifications

DBS for non tremor
Hi all. An acquaintance of mine who has the wonderful disease was told by their PD nurse that DBS wasn’t really an option as he had no tremor. I’m a little surprised at this remark and wondered what the community thinks about this. Thanks and best wishes 😊

Children of brain injury survivors
Hi everyone, My mum had a
brain
haemorrhage
when I was 13. I'm now 25 and my sisters and I (who were 15 and 8 at the time) are really interested to speak to other children of brain injury survivors to hear their experiences of growing up with a parent who's had a brain injury.

DBS truly reversible?
Hi all, In all the DBS vs FUS posts the argument is that DBS is reversible. The two people I know who had DBS pulled are in horrible shape - one had a stroke from it. I also know of a number of people where DBS made them worse or did nothing. So for my own knowledge - do you know people where it has

DBS and meds
DBS and meds. I can’t get my meds correct after my first DBS programming. I used to take stalevo 200 every 2 1/2 hours. The doctor got me on rytary now two 245 mg capsules then following my old schedule. Now I’m overdosing. Who’s got DBS and how much meds they take.
