LDR brachytherapy at MSK: Day after treatment
Hi all, I posted here about three weeks ago that I'd decided on LDR brachy -- radioactive seed implants -- as monotherapy, having decided between that and HDR brachy and SBRT. They were the three options that my RO at Memorial Sloan Kettering (MSK) had said had very good and equal outcomes as monotherapy

Does Erectile function come back after radiation treatment+brachytherapy+2 year ADT?
Did radiation treatment+high-dose
brachytherapy
+2 year ADT. Has anyone among you recovered their erectile function after such a treatment? PSA was <0.1 and testosterone was <20 while on ADT. Finished ADT in Sept 2021. 6 months later, testosterone (T) is low-normal at 378.

Focal laser therapy or focal HDR Brachytherapy?
I'm considering either focal laser thereapy or HDR
brachytherapy
. ED and incontinence are my biggest concerns. Does anyone have any experience with either method or with Dr. Eric Walser (laser) at UTMB, or Dr. Albert Chang (
brachytherapy
) at UCLA?

Treatment decision: LDR brachy at MSK
I'm going to have LDR
brachytherapy
-- seed implants -- as monotherapy at MSKCC, a place where
brachytherapy
was pioneered. Scheduled for next month.

Questions for 2nd Meeting with MO tomorrow about reaction to 2 months on Orgovyx and Zytiga
They said the size of my prostate even after 12 years of Avodart precludes me having
brachytherapy
. RO and MO said they can treat me with “ curative intent “ as shown in STAMPEDE trial.

HIFU Question
I’m consider it instead of
brachytherapy
radiation and having trouble gathering meaningful data points. Thanks.

Focal laser therapy vs. focal HDR brachytherapy?
Walser at UTMB in Galveston, or HDR
Brachytherapy
with Dr. Chang at UCLA. Risk of ED and incontenence are my greatest concerns. Does anyone have any experience with either method or or either Dr?

Is this pointing to cancer becoming castrate resistant?
Before this I had
brachytherapy
in 2011 for original diagnosis of Gleason 3 + 3 cancer and cyber knife + 9 months ADT for extra-capsular recurrence in 2016/2017. Since November 2018 I had a nine month ADT break and currently I am at six month point of a second break.

Drinking More H2O Only Exacerbates My Incontinence
Even though I am still alive and feeling good 17 years post RP, (BCF 8 years ago) I often wonder if I should have chosen a different procedure such as
brachytherapy
?

One Year Out
After 6 rounds of chemo (on a 3-week cycle), I underwent 25 radiation treatments followed by 3
brachytherapy
sessions. Other than losing my hair and 20 pounds I needed to lose, being overly tired and having chemo-brain for about 8 months, the journey had minimal effect on my life.

Just finished my SBRT treatment at MSKCC
I had HDR
brachytherapy
a month ago, which went very smoothly, and the SBRT treatment over the past week. (No ADT in my case.0 The SBRT treatment itself has been easy.

Treatment plan from Sloan Kettering docs after MRI and review of PSMA -PET…$900 -copays !!! ????
Radiologist ruled out
brachytherapy
due to “probable” lymph node involvement shown in MRI. The doctors said they are treating me with curative intent . I have hot flashes everyday but feel pretty good otherwise. The biggest shock is $ 900 dollar monthly co-pays for the ADT drugs .

HDR Brachytherapy UCSF
So it's finally happening. Tues and Wed 10/19 & 10/20 After endless delays, Jim finally gets his radiation treatment. Such a relief that it will be Dr Peter Carroll doing the surgical portion. Anxiety is high, but that helps a lot. Also Jim's latest PSA went to ultrasensitive test and is 0.04 Thanks

Need a doctor recommendation for husband SW FL area
It’s been a tough couple years since then (treatment EBRT,
brachytherapy
/seeding, Lupron (2 years)). No recurrence at this point but initial treatment was in Northern VA. We have since moved to Fort Myers, FL area and are trying to find a good doctor for him to continue with follow-up monitoring.

Recently diagnosed, Seeds vs HDR Brachytherapy?
He has researched enough to know about seed implants and likes the idea in theory..... in my ignorance I thought
brachytherapy
always referred to "seeds". Can someone tell me if either of these options would be a good treatment choice for him?
