Salvage Brachytherapy
has anyone here had salvage
brachytherapy
? High dose radiation
Brachytherapy
is being recommended for me at MSK pending results of a very recent MRI to determine if I can have it. Sounds promising….administered with carefully placed needles over two sessions two weeks apart.

Order of brachyboost
Does anyone know if there is any difference in outcomes if you do the LDR
brachytherapy
before EBRT or vise versa? Initially we were told it would be EBRT first. Now it looks like the RO is scheduling the
brachytherapy
first.

Brachyboost and PSA progression free survival question
”We can proceed with EBRT followed by LDR
brachytherapy
boost and minimum 6 months of ADT (as per Japanese randomized trial (IJRPBP 2023), where 6 months vs 24 months of hormones together with EBRT prostate
brachytherapy
boost in high risk patients yield completely the same results).

What questions should we ask re brachytherapy boost?
Hello, we are trying to get an appointment with a radiation oncologist to ask about
brachytherapy
boost as a potential alternative to RALP. What questions should we ask when we talk to her? Thank you!

3months Post-HD Brachytherapy
Follow up from my previous post & many thanks to the helpful advice from members here. I scheduled a teleconference with Dr Albert Chang at UCLA in November, scheduling is 3 months out so treatments were Feb.3 and 6. Normally a week apart but since I flew in they did 3days apart. We stayed at the Luskin

HDR boost Brachytherapy + IMRT
Hi all, This is my first post since being diagnosed with g9 metastatic PC. PSMA PET showed several pelvic lymph nodes with Mets, but no other spread, and bones are clean. I’m trying to finalize my choice of radiation treatments. I’m currently on Lupron and Zytiga, and PSA is dropping like a rock

Brachytherapy boost HDR vs LDR +/- ADT
A bit of my background: 50 years old, Gleason score of 4+3, a PSA of 11, decipher is low, and possible extracapsular extension. 1) I know what LDR and HDR do, but what are the differences in terms of their long-term side effects? 2) Should I include ADT for a better outcome and what percentage improvement

After Orgovyx
Treated in April 2022 with
brachytherapy
. Current PSA is negligible, but urologist wants to continue Orgovyx until September 2024 due to the risk for spread. Symptoms include fatigue, join and muscle pain and hot flashes. Overall I am feeling good.

Erectile dysfunction meds and side effects
My husband is getting
brachytherapy
in September and then IG IMRT in October. He is currently on Orgovyx for month two and will be adding zytega next month. Good news is that his PSA has gone to 2 and Testosterone to 9 after a month on Firmagon so meds seem to be doing what are supposed to.

I was treated for cervical adenocarcinoma seven years ago and this included radiotherapy and
brachytherapy
. I was treated by the late effects clinic at the oncology centre and later discharged as they had taken me as far as they could.

A question about radiation resistance
If you have had SBRT and it hasn't deliver a “killing dose” to tumor, is
brachytherapy
a follow up option? My PSA showed rise after SBRT, (from 8.6 to 12) Ro and Mo attributed this to remain ing inflammation. One month later PSA dropped to 9.

Best Salvage Brachytherapy and SBRT locations
I'm close to Duke Cancer Center and they have a RO there who does salvage
Brachytherapy
but he's only been practicing for 5 years so I doubt he has as much experience as I'd like. I think my RO's right when he said you want someone who has done a lot of these.

Urinary urgency after treatment .. occasional
I’ve had
brachytherapy
(5 months ago), external radiation (3 months ago), and ADT for 9 months ended 2 months ago. Gleason 7 unfavorable. Sometimes it happens and I really focus on stopping it and it goes away. When I do use the restroom often my bladder isn’t really that full.
