Treat BPH in prep for Brachytherapy?
I have done some study and would like to go the
brachytherapy
route. But I have a weak urinary stream. I am thinking that if I go that route, I’d better treat the BPH... beforehand. Has anyone here done that same thing?

Prostate Cancer Foundation : ADT: What You Really Need to Know .. "Who should not get ADT? "
If your doctor wants to put you on ADT to “shrink your prostate” before
brachytherapy
, that’s not a good enough reason." "ADT has never been shown to extend life if it’s given too soon." "Why not just give it?

I HAVE HUNG UP MY RUNNING SHOES
So hormone therapy,
brachytherapy
(look it up), external beam radiotherapy and a break from work all followed and apart from three weeks recovering from
brachytherapy
, I continued running which provided a period of calm in my disturbed world.

Vmat rapid arc radiotherapy
Finland suggesting HDR
Brachytherapy
after the 20 fractions so guess that would be all radiotherapy options thrown at it! Anyone has experience of Vmat rapid arc radiotherapy?

in the future?

I need some input

Sources of PSA During ADT Break
My prostate cancer took an unusual path since
brachytherapy
in 2011 for Gleason 3 + 3 low volume cancer. First I had a local recurrence in 2016 and lymph node (pelvic and abdominal) metastasis in 2018. Since then I have been on intermittent Lupron ( 3 month shorts).

Bruising - random, quite deep?
[For context, I'm three years out from pelvic radiotherapy (external and intracavitary
brachytherapy
) and dealing with various PRD issues - including significant lower back and pelvis pain, extreme fatigue, menopause, and cognitive issues.

EBRT Experience
I'm on Lupron for 18 months (6 down), and have
brachytherapy
in 2 weeks. All in all not too bad for the EBRT - seems it was cumulative within a week and overall. I kept active - climbing 2x a week, lifting 2x a week, and a hike or ski here or there.

PSA Testing Intervals
Jim had his HDR
Brachytherapy
at UCSF last October. We haven't confirmed, but the RO indicated in January that he probably will not do further RT to Jim's few lymphnodes and suspicious bone spot.

Gleason 9 - spread to lymph nodes, update on treatment plan.
I was told
Brachytherapy
was not an option due to previous TURP. I have my first Firmagon injection tomorrow - any tips to prepare? My goal over the next 6 months is to try and exercise as much as possible, eat a healthy diet and Kegel, Kegel, Kegel!

My PC Diagnosis 2022
My brother in-law told me to ask about
Brachytherapy
(internal radiation), at the time I didn't know what it was called so I asked about radiation pellets inserted in the prostate. He told me that this wasn't used that much anymore.

Why not brachytherapy for PCa infected lymph nodes? The study below was not for PCa but was fairly successful.
Material and methods: Between February 2015 and April 2019, 14 cervical/endometrial cancer patients presenting with bulky pelvic node(s) underwent nodal interstitial
brachytherapy
boost in our institution. In total, 17 nodes were treated.

Surgery+radiation+ADT orRadiation + ADT
Brachytherapy
possibly not an option due to previous TURP. Questions are: What are benefits of surgery? Would Surgery+radiation+ADT possibly lead to a cure, or at least a shorter amount of time on ADT or longer time to recurrence?
