Underactive thyroid
Hi, my thyroid levels have been up and down recently. I've been on 125mcg and felt fine until the GP decided, after a blood test, to lower the dose. The dosage I need isn't available so I'm now on 100mcg for 5 days and then 112mcg for 2 days. Is this an ok thing to do? Thanks.

Have you disclosed your self-medication to GP?
Hello Everybody, I've been successfully self-medicating with T4 and T3 or NDT, without GP's knowledge, since 2016. For the 30 years before that I could not get diagnosed for hypothyroidism because I am borderline central hypothyroid and my TSH never got high enough for the NHS diagnosis criteria.

Blood test results
Hi, Please could someone comment on my blood test results. I am not seeing any improvement and have been more depressed and tearful since starting NDT. I am due to speak to a practice nurse at the Thyroid Clinic tomorrow. Apologies there is a lot to take in! Thank you in advance. Bloods results -

Baffling results on T4&T3!
Morning all, I’m awake early feeling like total rubbish so thought I’d jump on and share in the hope that someone can shed light on my baffling blood test results which came through on Friday! I’ve been on 75mcg Levothyroxine and 15mcg T3 for the last 6 weeks (having slowly increased T3 from nothing

Blood tests confirming malabsorption and malnutrition
Out of curiosity, I managed to set up my NHS portal and patient access, and checked through the last couple of years of various blood tests. Now, when I was in hospital in 2022 (all linked to mistreated hypothyroidism), many blood tests showed malabsorption and malnutrition. These were repeated daily

same Dose
I have a blood test in March. Have the test done at 10.30 am my GP Doctor called at 4.30 pm said your test is Normal you need to stay on the same dose of 50 mg and have a blood test next year. Not sure if it’s right kidney advice

Hot milk works
I have RLS and PLMD such that I have very strong muscle contractions in my legs and abdomen. It has been increasing in intensity over the last few years and may stop for a few nights then return. The abdominal jerks are particularly distressing and will occur with uncanny regularity of from every 10

High platelet count due to iron deficiency anaemia maybe?
Just again when I thought all was going well ! High platelet count from recent blood test shows Platelet count 515 10*9/L Platelet count has been abnormal for some time, but never this high. Not sure whether I should request the ferrous sulphate again, OR could it be PMR flare. I have felt pretty

Celiac blood test, looks like it sits on a borderline, between 'normal' and possibly abnormal 🤷🏻♀️ what could this mean?
Does anyone understand this celiac test? I was surprised to see I sit on what looks like a borderline... what does <0.3 (u/ml) mean? 🤷🏻♀️ I wondered about iga deficiency, but maybe this could be normal...🤷🏻♀️

calcium supplement before reclast infusion
is it best to take a calcium supplement before my infusion, I have had a blood test prior to my infusion but a blood test doesn't really show how much calcium in your bones and I have been reading that reclast lowers calcium levels.

Has my PMR Gone?
Hello friends, I haven't posted for some time now partly because I've been feeling very depressed on account of my worsening health and my GP has prescribed Mirtazapine to be taken every night before bed. I've been on them for a few months now but can't say in all honesty that I am feeling any better

Impending GP appointment advice
Hello everyone and thankyou for your advice.I was diagnosed last August with hypothyroidism and cautiously started on 25mcg. I assume because of being over 65. Since then I have been having the usual 6-8 week blood tests and in February finally reached a dosage of 100mcg daily. My current weight suggests

Still on 50mcgs Levo and symptoms returning…
Morning everyone, It’s been a while since I last posted; And no surprises but I’m still on 50mcgs with symptoms I had before I was diagnosed returning. My GP refuses to increase because my last blood test done in January showed my FT4 at 19.4 and he said he doesn’t want it to get any higher than that

Returning to Warfarin after 4 months on Edoxaban ...... part 2
I posted on here my original comments on this subject. Hopefully, this update, will be of interest. I made the decision to quit Edoxaban on 6 April. I didn't /couldn't be bothered to make contact with my GP, whenever I phone up for a chat I'm asked to make an appointment which usually is about 10 days
