GCA diagnosed February 2018 Tapering now from 5 to 4.5 Mg Prednisone and would appreciate input.
I've had a long tumultuous relationship with prednisone and would like to kick it to the curb permanently now. Eight weeks ago I had an adrenalectomy because I had a very rare Silent Pheochromocytoma. Blood tests this last week indicated that my remaining adrenal gland is doing its' job nicely and it's

Rituximab
Good morning…it’s 5.00 and it appears to be Duracell bunny time after my second Rituximab infusion yesterday! Please can I ask you lovely people on RTX a couple of questions. My rheumatology department is hard to get hold off at the best of times and I would rather have opinions from fellow RA ‘warriors

I've been suffering from indigestion for a few weeks, I was diagnosed with angina 10 years ago and had a HA resulting in 2 stents being fitted 19 months ago.......as you can guess the indigestion feeling sent alarm bells ringing, when I had my HA I thought it was indigestion. I phoned our surgery

Kardio Mobile ECG
Does anyone have experience of using this device and app to detect AF and has it proved useful? I am thinking of purchasing this but would like to know what other folk think of it. Only recently diagnosed and finding it very worrisome. Any advice would be appreciated.

Single event AF & heart block
Had an event in August when I felt very unwell, did not pass out but had to get paramedics to attend. Ecg diagnosed AF and heart block.Since then no further events. Had echocardiogram, all normal. Had a mobile Holter monitor for 7 days , no abnormalities shown. Am now waiting for an implantable monitor

PUL any success stories??
I found out I was pregnant last week. However, during the week before I had woke up in the night with sharp pains. I thought it was because I was due on and the pains had gone the following morning. So once I found out I was pregnant I went to A&E for reassurance. They booked me in for a scan which I

Myocarditis aged 18 with troponin levels of 15000
Hello. my 18 year old daughter started with what we thought was Strep (sore throat and raised temperature) on the 2nd of Jan. Two days later we had to take her to A and E as she was suffering from chest pains and her heart was racing. In A and E she tested positive for flu and her Troponin levels were

Carbimazole side effects
My husband was prescribed Carbimazole 5 weeks ago. Since taking it has been taken a toll on him. Seeing a 58 year old slowly unfolding into an 80 year old. Can't eat/sleep, permanently cold and wears 4 layers plus heating on and still cold. GP (not his usual) contacted and said oh it's flu. I went into

BFN (sort of) Beta test HCG only 6 after two positive tests
I had really let myself get my hopes up after our only 3AB embryo was transferred last week. I had two positive pregnancy tests over the past 2 days and you know how it is.... I'd already worked out when my due date was and when I'd stop work for mat leave etc. Well I had my 9dp5dt blood test today and

BFP 9dp5dt but more faint line next evening
hi ladies, I know I shouldn’t have but I decided to test yesterday morning, as had a good feeling I would get a positive, following what I believe was implantation bleeding last Wednesday. My OTD is Wednesday (29th). The line indicating a positive result came up pretty much straight away and was very

Sensitive: is ectopic 'vanishingly rare' with IVF?
Thank you to everyone who has been so kind with their advice and checking in. I spent a long time at the EPU today with a pretty confusing outcome - the nurse who scanned me said there was a gestational sac but nothing else, and that my right ovary that she could see looked fine, no cysts etc. Definitely

GCA worries
I’m mildly concerned about my eyesight. I have been on Pred for over 3 years. It was started at 30mg for PMR, and GCA in the family. Down eventually to 6mg, but after husband had just died. Complete collapse of all systems, with double vision worsening, balance bad, pain, etc. so up to 15 again and

Junctional Rhythm
I have had Paroxysmal Afib since 2017, and take Warfarin and Bisoprolol ( now been 5mgs twice daily for a year ). No other drugs. I have been having a lot of unclassified results on my Kardia lately. A few is normal and I always thought it was interference or similar, or me not being still enough. However

Breakthrough episode (Update)
My EP only put me on a miniscule dosage of sotalol as I was doing it out of hospital and couldn't be directly monitored (40mg twice a day). I feel 1000 times better, no kidding, since starting the sotalol even at this low dose. No more daily PVCs, no more extreme fatigue. After checking my QTC to

Docetaxel Chemo: What Helped Me…
I am on triplet therapy (ADT, darolutamide and Docetaxel) and will be continuing on to radiation in December I wanted to post this in case it might help others who are going to get Docetaxel. I just finished round six (final) of my Docetaxel infusions on 10/24. (Oct 2022, started July 2022).

A Dilemma
I've had PMR for just over 2 years and up until May this year I have been able to reduce my prednisolone down to 2 mg. Since May I have had 3 flares and following the Forums instructions increased the dosage by 5mg for about a week then back down to 2.5 mg which seemed to work. 3 weeks ago, I got my
