Cancer Doctor Recommends Xofigo (Radium 223) Because PSA is Rising Again After 10 Months of ADT with Firmagon and Zytiga
My PSA started rising again 2 months ago. It is now at 37. The highest PSA was 160 when this all started about a year ago. Testosterone is still negligible. Recent bone scan shows some improvement in old bone metastases but a couple of new ones just popped up. The VA oncologist is scheduling me for

Xanax vs ?
What do you do for anxiety if Xanax no longer works? I’ve Valium an alternative? I take Paxil and won’t be coming off that anytime soon due to withdrawal symptoms. Thanks for any advice.

Tales from the IC: Getting to know my Metatarsals (# 1)
Warning: long but hopefully informative post. Ok, so for the first time since starting to run nearly 2 years ago, I’m taking a cautious step back and am preparing to be on the Injury Couch for a stint. With this I hope to minimise the risk of a more serious injury. About a week ago, I noticed the

An update on fluoxetine withdrawal and RLS
Last month I posted a question about SSRIs (specifically fluoxetine) and RLS. I’ve been trying again to withdraw from fluoxetine, this time paying more attention to the half life of the drug and tapering more gradually. I’m encouraged to report that my RLS seems to be reducing. It now starts later in

Achalasia newbie
For the past 2 years I have been keeping a health diary of the number of times I threw up, wretched, gagged and had chest pains at the same time as my consultant has tried to identify what was wrong. After a gastroscopy, barium meal and my 2nd oesophageal manometries I was finally diagnosed with achalasia

Advice on Xtandi & radium 223 side effects
Hi all, my Dad is currently doing a trial, Peace 111, xtandi & radium 223 with zometa. Pain with swallowing
I suffer from health anxiety and depression. After being on an antibiotic for possible tick bite, I began having pain about four inches under left armpit every time I swallow something solid. This has been going on for 7weeks now. Not worsening and no other symptoms. Has anyone else experienced this

Is my panic negating the anesthetics?
I don't like the dentist I don't like the doctor I don't like the hairdresser. Anybody that comes at my face with sharp things I have serious issues with. Knowing this my primary care provider advised me to take a larger dose of Valium an hour before the appointment and when the appointment started.

WARNING: MAY STRAY INTO MELODRAMATIC SELF PITY So.....after very recently being rejected for a referral to NHS endo I have now been told that my ultrasound has been rejected too. I asked for this as I can now see a visible swelling on my neck and it would help me get a NHS diagnosis for my Hashi's.

Where to next with throat issues?
I had the results of my barium swallow and nothing abnormal was found. Despite that my swallowing problems are getting worse and I can’t bear anything around my neck because of the discomfort it causes. The ENT doctor won’t carry out any further tests, is there anything I can do to help myself?

Risks Associated w/Too Many Medications
I'm currently taking 8 medications for which there are no listed drug interaction effects, but I can't help but wonder whether doctors and pharmacists actually know what happens when so many medications are taken. Currently, I'm on: Carbodopa/Levidopa Rasigiline Nurianz Bupropion Gabapentin Quetiapine

Another half marathon 12/9/21 💜
The last 3k was tough going, had a few Paula Radcliffe moments along the way 🤣 fuelled by Percy 🐷, coconut water with a pinch of sea salt (used too much salt during first HM which acts as an enema - lesson learnt 😂) Well happy, ran another half marathon 12/9/21 especially as since first one on 11/

Some questions answered, some answers questioned, and Chemotherapy scheduled.
I exchanged emails with the MO over the weekend regarding the combination trials of Docetaxel and Radium 223. Below is a portion of the exchange. Part 1 explains why there was no treatment for 90 days. Part 2 the Medical Oncologist paragraph talks about his familiarity with the Docetaxel/Radium 223

Thursday 9/9/2021 was D for Decision Day--Locked and Loaded for Chemotherapy
I met with the oncologist and ran through my agenda efficiently. He was patient and spent a reasonable amount of time answering questions. As time went on, he suggested that the top 2 options, for the moment, were chemotherapy and radium 223. The oncologist said there isn’t a rush to begin, with no evidence

Preparation for Treatment Decisions 90 Days after Immunotherapy Stopped.
When I ran a business, I always prepared an agenda. I find that taking the time to write things down and review them sets the agenda and keeps meetings moving in a positive direction while avoiding the possibility that something important gets lost. The week before last, I exercised moderately a few

Worrying upper abdomen pain
Hello, this is my first post and I am a little nervous about it. Where do I begin? I was diagnosed with Diverticular problems 20 years ago. I had upper abdomen pain and urgent diarrhoea at the time.
