AF Story
Hi everyone, I thought I'd share my story so far to help anyone who is having a difficult time with similar issues. I'm 36 years old, male, 6ft and 13 stone with a slim and athletic build. I've always enjoyed all sports including cycling and running. I don't smoke but do enjoy a few beers at weekends

Pacemaker question
Met with my cardiologist last night. I had a very good day heart wise yesterday with no ectopics at all. That is very unusual for me. I had a severe afib event on Monday and had taken the maximum 300mg dosage. My cardio advised that the flec would probably been out of my system by yesterday. I was fitted

AF is back.
Until yesterday I had only had two episodes of PAF this year, in Jan and July. I had convinced myself that I could control the PAF with things like diet and exercise, and that since the number of episodes this year were fewer than last year, things were looking fairly good. Bart’s discharged me from

New here
Hi I am new to the group and going through a hard time at the moment. Was diagnosed with paroxysmal A Fib 18 months ago and through working with aFunctional Medicine doctor, got a break of 8-10 months. But then it slowly crept back. Once a week, always at night, until it was every night. My Fleccainide

Stomach ulcer?
Has anyone else here developed a stomach ulcer after taking warfarin or any other anticoagulant long term? I have a suspected ulcer, and I'm wondering how it can heal while still taking warfarin, which it seems can be a cause of ulcers.

4 YEARS POST ABLATION and some weird info...
I can hardly believe that it is 5 years since I joined this group. I don't visit often since my ablation almost 4 years ago. I had so much help from people in this group and today I see that Bob is still helping people... I see CDreamer is here helping too. God bless you all. I am fine after my ablation

LSD - afib and stress !
Hi everyone. I should have been a reporter for the New's of the World with that headline ;-) Still it might get your attention. I read on another thread about 'LSD' and afib - may have been FJ but I can't remember for sure. However the LSD bit stuck in my mind. It's very easy to remember. It works too

Guess what paid me a visit today?
Right ... it was afib. I was preparing dinner and l suddenly needed to go potty ... walked into the bathroom and it started. It’s been almost one year since the last episode. I immediately took a sotalol and drank a small can of tomato juice (someone on here recommended) ... prepared my bag and off

What was your experience on lexapro (escitalopram)?
Hi again. I am struggling bad today. Third day on lexapro (20mg). Right now, I feel so weird in my head. Earlier I was just cleaning and making lunch for my son when I began feeling very odd: hot, numb, out of my body and mind, accompanied by EXTREME FEAR. I thought it was the start of a p/a so I tried

2nd Day On Lexapro
hello, so today is my second day on only lexapro. It was also an increase from 10 to 20 mg. Here I am after dropping my son off at work, back home alone and trying to fend off panic. I had a CBT session earlier and felt good thinking i was feeling better. I am weird in my head right now, what i mean

Magnesium?
Hi there, I was just wondering if anyone takes magnesium? Does it help? I’m lucky as only had two Afib episodes in 18 months. I’m on Bisoprolol (only low dose). Wondering if magnesium was any good for Afib? I’m 45 and not sure if I want Bisoprolol forever. I’m okay on it but just thinking things through

Using correct terminology
There is, and always will be debates about the terminology sometimes used on this forum. I think it is sometimes easy for folk to forget that the primary purpose of the forum is to help AF patients to understand their condition better and how best to cope with their symptoms. Cast your memories back

Lexapro and Metoprolol?
Hi everyone, as you all know from my posts my anxiety has been debilitating - making this recovery process harder than it should be. I’ll be 4 months post ablation on November 21st. I’ve been talking to a therapist who referred me to a psychiatrist and he prescribed me 5 mg Lexapro. I’m nervous to take
