I have permanent AF without obvous symptoms - should I take up an offer to have catheter ablation?
My first post here. As my profile says, I have had permanent AF for a long time but it is without obvious symptoms. I dont seem to have the kind of problems that many of those with AF suffer from - I have no trouble climbing stairs or with other activities of normal living. I have been running most

Migraine and AFib and Flecainide
So for the last ten years or so, since the age of 54 I have started getting occasional (ie once or twice a year) migraine auras. Passes within forty minutes max and had an MRI back in 2014. All good. Since my fibrillation started a year ago and taking Flecainide daily (originally 200 mg per day now 100

Weird night..not sure what started it but I had banana bread with chocolate in it..then lay down watching TV with spouse..As I was falling asleep the main character on TV apparently was shot and there was a bang which startled me

How are you dealing with AFIB and HEART FLUTTERS ?
2 months ago I got diagnosed via the Holter Monitor with HEART FLUTTERS ontop of my AFIB. Frankly I feel lousy and being new to the whole thing I really can't tell which is causing what. Is it the Bisoprolol the Apixaban, the Afib or the Flutters. I have watched video after video to get a better understanding

Using kardia mobile to track heart rhythm and strange ekg after exercise
Hi ! So i've never been officially diagnosed with afib or any arrhythmia but my doctors suspect it because I have random episodes of very fast heart rates. (150-160 bpm) I regularly use a kardia mobile to track my heart rate and rhythm and took one today after exercising. Is this artifact or something

Treatment for Atrial Flutter
Has anyone been treated successfully for atrial flutter? I awoke yesterday morning with a pulse of 90 (my heart rate is typically 60s-70s). I've gotten used to the occasional episodes of afib and atypical flutter which usually resolve in a couple of days. But this was different. No matter what I

Awful night with heart & ectopics
I'm past 3 years post my first ablation, now 39 years of age and by God, my heart just feels as if it wants to kill me. It's my own fault, as last night I went to bed thinking 'heart's been much more settled the last 48 hours, hopefully it stays that way' after months of almost constant activity. I

Raised Heart rate
Hi All. As mentioned in previous posts I have been on Digoxin & Eliquis Apixaban since the 11th August. The Digoxin seems to be doing a good job of reducing heart rate at rest and when I go for my daily walks. I do not think Digoxin is meant to reduce heart rate when exercising but I may be wrong. My

Side sleeping causes instant strong attack. WHY?
Hi, I have seen a few people mention on here that sleeping on your side can trigger AF, and I'm trying to understand why that is. Since being diagnosed 3 months ago with PAF I have had to sleep on my back as I'd feel a tremble if I laid on my side. But I have mild sleep apnoea and sleeping on my back

Switched to Nebivolol - Higher HR
Hi I finally got my GP to advise on my switch from Bisop to Nebivolol. I wanted to try it because my feet and legs are struggling so much. My toes are numb, yet sting and feel over-sensitive at the same time and burn in bed. My legs hurt when I stand up and I stagger about until I get going - slowly

Hot and sunny day
Has anyone experienced a load of palpitations after spending most of the day in the sun please. I golfed this morning and then chilled out in the back garden so all in all around 5 or 6 hours. I had loads of fluids and don’t think I was dehydrated. What was positive was that I didn’t lurch into afib

I had alcohol for the first time and woke up with possibly a-fun?
Long story short. I’m on a beta blocker. No pre existing conditions. I’ve only had a bout of afib once and it went back to normal sinus rhythm on its own. But I woke up in the middle of the night with a racing heart and it fluttered for 5 seconds than stopped. What was this?

How's your whiskers after ADT?
I've been on Casodex and Eligard for about 10 months now. My beard has virtually stopped growing and my skin is pushing out ingrown hairs. I was wondering how others on ADT are fairing with their whiskers, 🤔 DD.

Blood pressure readings
I need some advice please as l am confused by the readings on my BP monitor against my fitbit. I am having an episode of afib or flutter not sure which. BP Monitor reading is 130/95 pulse 111, 3 minutes earlier was 111/84 pulse 91. Fitbit shows HR at 55.
