Blood pressure monitor
Hoping someone can give me some advice - 5 weeks ago I had an ablation for SVT which was more complicated than they thought as it turned out to be a multi focal SVT. However as part of that they discovered Afib present too. Long story short, I’ve been sent home with daily Diltiazem and Flecainide as

default heart rate when in Afib?
Hi guys Long story short:third ablation failed in May. In between ablations (last 2 years) my afib has been permanent. Ive tried multiple drug combos but the only thing that makes my heart beat normally is an ablation. After latest failed I had a week’s reset after a public hospital cardioversion.

Hello Everyone I wrote a Post here last March as we were worried about the choices being offered to my Husband for the management of his PAF (anticoagulant, pacemaker, ablation). Many of you kindly answered our questions and gave us the benefit of your experience and my Husband felt pretty confident

loop recorder
I am being asked by an EP/ cardiologist to have them implant a loop recorder to monitor my heart for an extended period of time. This recorder will be recording continuous EKG readings that is transmitted to the treating cardiologist . It is expected that this will allow for better diagnosis and treatment

Statistics, triggers & stroke risk?
Hi all fellow afibbers, I’m hoping to get your opinions and hopefully advice, on a bit of information that I’ve recently picked up on. From articles I’ve read, there are two important statements ; 1) That over the age of 64, it is estimated that 1 in 4 people suffer from Afib & this rises to 50%

Cardioversion and PVCs and PACs
Does a cardioversion help if you have PVCs and PACs or does it only help if you have Afib? I go in and out of Afib but my PVCs and PACs have been non-stop for 3 months. Flecainide did not work. I’m considering a cardioversion as I’m to the point I will try anything to get my heart back into NSR but

PAF … ? Further echo
Hi all, I’ve been quiet on the group for a while now as after my horrible introduction to rapid AF 18 months ago prompting a couple of stays in CCU things have settled on meds. The cardiologist has discharged me back to the Gp , apart from ectopics & odd thumps/ bumps I am well on adizem & flecanide

Ablation Cancelled
Hi Everyone I had ectopic beats for over a year, up to 24 a minute, dizzy, light headed, totally exhausted. I am 66 previously very fit, cycling, rowing, walking. When I started suffering chest pain my GP sent me to A&E by ambulance three times, each time I was told its nothing to worry about 'everybody

Can Afib turn into an irregular heart beat instead ?
Hi All The reason I say this is that I do not get elevated beats per minute I am always in the range of 75 to 95 Yet my watch still says I have AF and when my pulse is taken it is irregular So I wonder if there are different types of AFib ? Otherwise feel 100% ok I am on anti-rat apixaban and

atrial flutter
I've been diagnosed with Atrial flutter, it's there all the time now and heart scan shows damage to heart muscle . I'm waiting for cardioversion , then possible ablation if unsuccessful. My anxiety and depression is rapidly going crazy 😪

Kardia. An alternate way to use it.
I think Kardia is a great home device and own four of their models. However, from experience and after reading many posts here, it seems that how you use Kardia can often be the difference between it being helpful device that helps diagnose and manage arrhythmia's, and a device that causes more stress

Flecainide for Afib, PVCs and PACs
I’ve been taking 10 mg of Flecainide twice a day for almost a month. My question is, how long does it take before Flecainide starts to work? I have seen no difference in my Afib, PVCs, PAC and Trigeminy. In fact, I could almost say they have gotten worse. Is it possible that Flecainide doesn’t work

Sweetened drinks linked to atrial fibrillation risk
Many, many years ago, I used to occasionally have a gin and tonic or angostura and tonic (if driving). And became convinced that, if the tonic contained saccharin, I would likely end up having a relatively high heart rate. But this was long before I had any idea about afib. As I hate the taste of saccharin

Heart Rhythm query…
Please can anyone explain ? My Kardia can show a result of Afib or SVEs even when my heart rhythm appears to be constant. It can show heart rhythm of say 61 throughout a 30 second trace, without fluctuation, yet reveal I have an irregular heart rate. As we are often told to check our pulse and if it’
