Hi Teddi, in the early days soon after diagnosis, for a short while I was taking both Bisoprolol, Digoxin and Diltiazem. First, I need to say that I am not medically trained therefore cannot advise on prescribed medication but I can comment about my own personal experience. Because we are all different, it’s important to understand that we can all react differently to all medications.

As far as I know, Digoxin is normally prescribed to patients who have a sedentary lifestyle, whereas Bisoprolol is by far, the most commonly prescribed beta blocker. Because I was taking three drugs, it was impossible to know which side effect was caused by which particular drug, but many say Bisoprolol can cause breathlessness and lethargy but for others, it works well. I think it will probably be a case of trial and error but if you experience any problems, keep a record and discuss them when you see your cardiologist. If you are having difficulties with medication, he might be more able to offer alternatives. Hope this will help for starters, I’m sure others will offer comments to help....
