Merry Chemo Christmas!!
I previously wrote that ADT failed after 6 months and that I was looking at next steps. In summary - RP in 2015, IMRT in 2016 both failed to stop disease progression - PSA was 7.5 in Apr 2017 when I started ADT, by Nov 2017, PSA had reached 15.9. Gregg57 suggested that the issue might be neuroendicrine

long term use of high steroid doses can lead to symptoms such as thinning skin, easy bruising, changes in the shape or location of body fat (especially in your face, neck, back, and waist) I have all these symptoms what can I do.

Should I Pay for Enzalutamide
I started ADT in May (my PSA had risen to 7.5 after IMRT in 2016). Unfortunately I am in the small group of me who have 'primary ADT resistance' and my PSA is now 21 after 6 months of ADT. Not a good look! I am seeing MO next week, chemo is likely. In the meantime, urologist has added Casodex to my

New Onc New Direction
Well it’s been 13 years since diagnosis; G 9, PSA, 4.2 Dr. Dattoli, IMRT, Recurrence; 3 years later, more radiation DART & continued ADT. Then on to Dr. Myers for the next several years where we followed Snuffy’s protocol as best we could. It’s been tough for my husband but he manages to still keep active

Does A Plant-based Diet cure Cancer?
I have been doing some research into this area. Firstly, my coeliac diagnosis in 2014 lead to a huge change in diet - no more beer, no more bread, and out went most processed foods due to gluten contents. Then 2 members of my local community PCa support group reported good results from following an

Hi all, I've been all over the internet looking for advice on PCa and just found this site. There is some great information here and I look forward to joining in conversations. A quick update on why I am here: - Dec 2014 (age 52 years). My lovely wife has for many years suspected I had coeliac disease

6 weeks after radiation my PSA is still rising
I finished 33 sessions of IMRT on 3 lymph nodes (the only 3 places where the new PET scan specific for prostate cancer revealed cancer) 6 weeks ago but my PSA is still rising. Radiation oncologist said he was disappointed that my PSA didn't stay the same or go down after that amount of time but that

Imrt best practices?
Hello. So I am to start imrt next week and tend to think my dr. Is just winging it on protocol. He says to stop vitamin c and e. Also to cut out any flatulent causing foods like whole grains for the duration. Also drink 32 ounces of water prior to treatment. I have tried to find the best advice but to

Asthma management
Hi. I was diagnosed with asthma in 2016 I was put on ventolin evohaler ( blue rescue inhaler) and recently been put on clenil modulite (brown preventer) I feel this has made my asthma worse through out the day and morning and night. Does anyone know what the nurse might do when I go back in 2 weeks?

Brown Inhaler ran out and didn't realise
Hi I'm panicking as my 12 year old son has been using clenil modulite regularly for the past seven years and has never missed a dose. I've just discovered that the canister must have been empty for the past five days when he was using it. I've started him up again on it but I'm panicking about the abrupt

Inhaler dose counting
Hi, I have real trouble remembering to take my preventer, recalling if i just took it once twice or none, and how many doses left. I've used a diary, an app, calendar reminders, task lists, pen and paper you name it. In my defence I have a small brain and I find it gets full quickly. Even in the 30 seconds

Gleason 9 (5+4) 10+ years ago - widely metastatic cancer and running out of options!
My husband was diagnosed in 2007 at age 57, Gleason 9 (5+4), PSA 18. [PSA at age 50 was 10 - a 3 core biopsy showed nothing so he was told he simply had a high baseline PSA]. He started ADT in late 2007 and had iodine brachytherapy in 2008. PSA rose rapidly after surgery. Combidex scan in Holland

Question about IMRT on multiple targets simultaneously
I was diagnosed with Stage 4 M1b prostate cancer nearly 4 years with a Gleason score of 9 and a PSA doubling time of 2 months. My prostate and seminal vesicles were removed 3 years ago. I have gone through Lupron, Zytiga, and Xtandi. I take Xgeva for the bone metastases and for the last 18 months they
