Pneumonia or Thyroid?

Hi All, Firstly, thank you to everyone who contributes to this forum, which is a god send to those of us with GP’s who aren’t informed about thyroid disease, to say the least. I’m sorry if this post is a little long but I’m putting down everything I think might be relevant – essentially I’ve had very

Using an Inhaler with cardio issues

As a few will know I have had Cardio problems since 1997, fixed with quad CABG and later stents fitted. Had several issues with breathlessness and diagnosed with HF. All of these quite well managed these days. Earlier this year just before everything kicked off I had had more breathing issues and had

Clenil modulite 100mg

Just wondering if anyone can tell if Clenil modulite isn't helping, as I wake up with tight chest every morning. What should I do about it or suggestions

Clenil with dose indicator vs 'classic'

Hi! Asthma inhaler

My wife is asthmatic. She is prescribed Clenil Modulite 200mcg. Unfortunately the pharmacy that normally provides her medication has had no stock for over a month and can give no intimation when new stocks will be received. They do have 100mcg in stock but can only provide this with a new prescription

Is it really asthma?

Hi everyone, Here's another long post... I've been having a persistent cough and breathing difficulties for some time and my GP thinks it's asthma. I'm 31, non-smoker with no history of chest infections or other respiratory problems and no known allergies so I'm a bit puzzled as to how or why I'd develop

Daily symptoms for 10 months so far

Hi everyone, I'm new to this forum. Im 31 and have had mild asthma my whole life, diagnosed at 5. I was on clenil modulite 200 and salbutamol most my life. In the last 5-6 years my symptoms seemed more reoccurring although the last 10 months have been the most difficult ever. It was like the flick of

Clenil side effects?

Hi all - first post. I have mild asthma, which is normally asymptomatic, and only appears sometimes after a bad cold, which goes on to affect my chest. I have an asthma review annually and the asthma nurse knows and approves of the fact that I do not normally use a preventer, unless I start with a cold

Clenil Shortage

Hi! So I am on Clenil Modulite 100mg inhaler, and ordered my repeat last week to discover that the pharmacy can’t get hold of any (I thought they might as I’d seen the Asthma UK Facebook post)... the pharmacy team at my GP surgery has called me to say that yes there is a global shortage, but they’ve

Working in a Nursery and Stricter Social Distancing

Just seeing the latest update from Asthma UK about who exactly needs to isolate for 12 weeks... I don't think I am covered as my Clenil Modulite is just under the dose they've classed as high, and although i was prescribed Montelukast I didn't get on with it, and my last course of steroids was just over

Hi! So, I am currently taking Dymista spray due to severe hay fever and eustachian tube dysfunction, I was prescribed this a year ago but was previously on Avamys. Seretide and skin problem.

I took Seretide for about 20 years. During that period I developed a skin problem where the skin particularly on my hands became very dry and flaky to the extent that layers of skin would fall away and they would bleed when gripping things even fairly tightly. This could be painful. I was treated with

Hi, I was diagnosed with Asthma nearly 2 years ago, and today had my annual review. Stage 4 initial recommendation Docetaxel and ADT

MD Anderson recommends docetaxel and ADT with primary site radiation after. I see there's some data of maintaining better control with early chemo, but wanted to know if anyone else has experienced it. My urologist recommended ADT and IMRT to all sites. I'm inclined to have more faith in MD Anderson

"Prostate cancer lives as it is born" question (Radiation resistance)

After reading this article years ago, I always wondered about my situation. My gleason is/way 4+3 (95% - 4) so basically gleason 8. My psa started to elevate in 2015 a a faster rate, when my PSA was at 10, I had IMRT and high dose brachytherapy. Two months later my PSA was down to 5, then I felt really

Finding a good Medical Team

PSA was elevated in October. Couldn't see for 3 weeks, biopsy Gleason 10. Appointment with surgeon took 3 weeks after having bone scan and MRI. I was diagnosed Stage IV in January, mets to 1 lymph, sacrum and T7. Took another 3 weeks to see radiation oncologist who indicates IMRT in 2-3 months and
