Atenolol side affects.
I’m still struggling with Atenolol side affects. That copd feeling in my chest and the ache and heaviness it brings with it. . I lost a lot of weight throughout my whole ordeal and wondering with the less fat I’m feeling every twinge, every ache and every flutter. I was given a strong heart diagnosis

Cortisone Injections, drug interactions and ectopics
Nearly two weeks ago I had a cortisone injection in my foot as I have a problems with the tendons as well as osteoarthritis. My EP has said to increase my Atenolol if I’m having procedures that can put my body under stress or if I am ever unwell (I usually take 25mg so can double it). I took extra meds

Nifedipine
Hi All, Earlier this year I told I have Raynauds and they think it's primary. Last winter my fingers were really painful and my toes went numb and had cramps if outside for too long. My consultant said this winter, if required, I could try a blood pressure tablet called Nifedipine. Has anyone on here

Atenolol side affects
Currently on Atenolol. Side affects are fatigue, feeling low, heaviness in chest. Taking to lower bp and heart rate. 25 mg at night to reduce side affects. Just don’t feel good. It’s been 4 weeks. Will this pass? I’m 65 and in good health. Walk up to an average 4 miles a day. Eat well. Is there a beta

How long after starting Atenolol I should see my BP improvement?
I just have been prescribed atenolol 25mg. I have HBP and after 10mg Ramipril, 10mg Amlodipin i still have 160/100. I have red that Atenolol will lower my pulse but after first tablet there is nonchange whatsoever. Does it mean it wont qork on me or simply it needs few days to build up?

Sinus Tachycardis
I attended A& E twice last week with my usual, for no apparent reason, rapid over 110 bpm heartbeat which was still going after 5 hours. Longest has been 3 hours. I do not feel dizzy or any pain just heart very weakly beating in throat. Had ECG etc eventually went whilst doctor taking pulse. Dropped

Feelings of ‘ panic’ at 3.5 mgs Prednisilone
Hi I am on 3.5 mgs of Pred after. 8yrs of my long journey with PMR and steroids. On the whole I’m doing well. Still stiffness in legs, hips and back but think this is more due to arthritis/ age than a resurgence of PMR. I had a blood test recently that showed evidence of cortisol although only a low

Atenolol . . . Are there any AFers still on it?
I have been taking 25 mg a day of atenolol for the past 20 years for HBP and now with AF for rate control. I understand it's less heart specific than some other beta blockers, but it seems to work for me. And my cardiologist is comfortable keeping me on it. I'm in permanent AF, QOL is great and I

Can a Beta Blocker Prevent Bone Loss?
Half of all women over age 50 will break a bone due to osteoporosis at some point during the rest of their lives. Even though several drugs that can prevent fractures are approved for the treatment of osteoporosis, their use is mostly limited to women over 60 who have already suffered a fracture or

Atenolol Thyroid Issues
I’ve been on atenolol for a year for rapid heartbeat following uterine surgery and menopause. There is a nodule on thyroid. No surgery yet, watching it. But my TSH level goes up occasionally. Two weeks ago it was 6.12. Doctor ordered free T4 but that was normal. But throat on right side feels inflamed

Atenolol withdrawal time period
Got a request to help you, unfortunately I don’t have a sure answer. I started going off my Atenolol about 2 months ago. At the time my doctor gave me a small dose of another blood pressure med to use in place of the atenolol. Never told me how to go about getting off the atenolol. I had to research

Food Interactions With Sotolol?
Thanks to everyone for their feedback regarding my switching from Flecainide to Solotol. I have another concern maybe some have some insights into: I started the Sotolol this morning and saw this information online: "If you are taking a beta-blocker, your health care provider may recommend that

Blood pressure and heart rate on levo...is GP wrong?
I was recently told to lower levo from 200 to 175 mcg daily based on the following lab results: TSH 0.01 (0.27.-4.2) FT4 24.9 pmol/L (12-22) FT3 5.7 pmol/L (3.1-6.8) BUT back then, I was on biotin and had taken levo about six hours prior to having blood drawn in the doctor´s office (I was not informed

Doc doesn't want to prescribe beta blocker
My 31 year old son has developed tachycardia after getting his 2d shot of Moderna. He has been to a cardiologist who gave him an echocardiogram (no stress test) and then sent him on his way. So he finally got a primary care that started him on propranolol which is working wonders (tho he needs an extra

Just been diagnosed with Raynaud's a couple of weeks ago
I have just been diagnosed and am very grateful to have found a forum which might offer support. I first realised I had a problem when my feet got icy cold and it took ages to warm them up again. Then realised my hands were affected too. Convinced my problems were brought on by stress. I got very worked
