Heart Arrhythmia
Hello all. I have a question that maybe someone can answer. Most of the time my heart beats fine. Steady and around 60 BPM. There are times though that it will out of the blue beat 8 or 10 times in a row fast. Just speeds up for no reason and then will go back to normal slow rhythm. Does anyone know

Feeling of stiffness and discomfort in left arm on amlodipine. Any similar experiences?
Hi all, I am a 37 year old female and I was recently diagnosed with high blood pressure. At first the GP thought that my suffering with covid was causing my blood pressure to remain high but after a month of consistent high readings, he started me on amlodipine on 15th March 2021. My feet became swollen

Should she switch to Bisoprolol?
My mum is 76. She has high blood pressure and AF. Just had an ECG which said her heart was "borderline", whatever that means. She has been taking Atenolol for years for the high BP. The doctor wants her to change to Bisoprolol. My concern is that she already suffers from fatigue and breathlessness.

Nifedipine alternatives
I've been taking Nifedipine for 20 or more years and my current prescription is for 20mg MR (modified release) e.g. slowly, rather than a quick hit which is sometimes better. As I'm anti medicines, one prescription can sometimes last a year, as I only take them when its really cold. Although this year

VSA treatment options
I'm currently being treated for vasospastic angina using a combination of metoprolol and nifedipine at relatively low doses (50mg daily and 30mg daily respectively) but not noticing any improvement from previous treatment using verapamil only. Throbbing Pain From Raynaud’s
I have Raynaud’s. I’m on nifedipine and Sildenafil for circulation. Sometimes I experience throbbing pain in my fingers. Does anyone else go through this and if so what do you do for immediate pain relief?

Weight loss & tachycardia
Weight loss & tachycardia Can weight loss make your heart beat sound louder? Is weight loss associated with increased tachycardia? I’ve had paroxysmal AF for 8 years. 1 cryablation, 1 RF ablation which has reduced my AF. I go in to AF about once every six weeks, usually in my sleep and CV with pip

No Sleep Thanks to Afib
Hi Folks, Just wondering what I can do about my increasing sleep deprivation and anxiety about afib. I was diagnosed in 2017 after hyperthyroidism pushed me into Afib. In 2019 I had 3 carioversions including two a week apart. In both instances I woke up middle of night heart racing and it became Afib

Amlopidine - A Good Alternative?
I am 65 and have an average BP of 149/85 with pulse 47. Am on Atenolol 25mg and Losartan 50mg. My concern is BP is too high plus my low pulse which sometimes drops to 42! Atenolol makes me sleepy and gives me a very dry mouth. Doctor proposes changing from Atenolol to Amlopidine 5mg. Does anyone have

Covid Vaccine, medical conditions and allergies
I was just wondering whether anyone has taken any of the vaccines? Although I work within a hospital setting where some of my colleagues have already received it, had been sent a text by my GP stating I should book and appointment and now furloughed, I really do not wish to take it due to my allergies

Not sure whether I have primary or secondary Raynaud's?
I've recently been diagnosed with Raynaud's, but I have a couple of symptoms that don't seem to fit primary Raynaud's. My Raynaud's primarily affects my feet, and when I was diagnosed almost every toe had an ulcer. I was diagnosed with primary Raynaud's, but since then I've read that only people with

PAF - Ablate or Medicate?
Hi all. I've been poking around the site for about a year with a couple comments and a post or two. I find I'm at a fork in the road with my AF journey and wanted to submit to the group for any perspectives I might not have considered. I'm consuming the wealth of data available here and at the org

Nail loss with Raynauds
Hi, I have Raynaud's and suffer with chilblains, mainly on my fingers. They lead to swollen, itchy, 'sausage' fingers which lasts for a few days. In the past my fingers would return to normal between attacks but this year I've suffered from a number of fingernail infections, losing 3 nails over the last
