IBS-D AND SVT
Hi everyone. I have IBS-D with SVT. I've just been able to connect them since going through menopause. I've been taking 25mg Atenolol since 2011 which has helped greatly with the SVT. I am now on Premarin cream which helps with elasticity of the colon when I have IBS-D episodes. At this point I cannot

Hi I am relatively new to the group. I have PAF and take 100mg Flecainide at 7 in the morning and 6 in the evening and 25mg atenolol in the morning. I am due to go away to Mauritius which is 4 hours ahead of the uk. I am interested to know if people stick to their medication timings in their home country

Prescribing cascade
Although not directly applicable to PMR/GCA probably a lot of us may have this happen to us. Consider, for example, a man in his late seventies, fit and active, “routinely prescribed” (like so many of his age group) a cholesterol lowering statin. Two months later, he consults his doctor with muscular

Does anyone else have this kind of afib?
Hi there - I’m told I have a rare kind of afib where my atria is ‘impressively irritable’. In other words despite 2 ablations one on 2017 and another in 2019 my adobos/ectopics/tachycardia is fired from the wall of the atria itself rather than the pulmonary veins which have been tightly isolated. I’m

BP meds interference?
I'm taking Losartan Potasium, Lerconidipine and Atenolol for very high blood pressure, and cannot have the surgery I need until it's normal. I've been taking Dihydrocodeine for severe, full body RLS for nearly 20 years, but recently, the bed-time dose I take around 12.30am is only lasting for about two

For some reason my blood pressure has shot up. I am already taking 50 mgs of Atenolol for raised blood pressure but this in in the danger zone with no apparent cause. The GP has arranged various Cardio tests, blood, kidneys within the next couple of weeks, having been alerted by my Rheumatologist last

Back on the dreaded Atenolol
Hi all, it didn't last - back on the 25mg Atenolol. I managed a week but the heart rate didn't go down (115bpm) and blood pressure stayed high. On the plus side no AF just atrial tachy. I'm going to try again though as i'm sure its the beta blocker that's making me feel so rough (slight ringing in ears

It’s been a long wait for my referral at Glenfield but only 4 more weeks to go. I took on the advise from others about seeking a private consultation to then go back into the NHS but even that route was a struggle to get any response. Looking forward to getting answers on what my irregular rhythm is

Going downhill!
Two years ago, I was given 50mg Atenolol to take daily. This worked for a few months but then I started feeling my heartbeat so Atenolol was increased to 100mg a day. This made me tired but I rarely felt a fast heartbeat. Recently I changed from Warfarin to Apixaban which made me even more tired - the

Apixaban
I take 100mg Atenolol which makes me tired but until recently has masked my heartbeat. I have recently changed from Warfarin to Apixaban and I seem to be more tired and get feelings of dizziness / not being quite right! Has anyone had similar side effects with Apixaban - or could it be that my AFib is
