MEDICATION TIMINGS WHEN IN DIFFERENT TIME ZONES

Hi I am relatively new to the group. I have PAF and take 100mg Flecainide at 7 in the morning and 6 in the evening and 25mg atenolol in the morning. I am due to go away to Mauritius which is 4 hours ahead of the uk. I am interested to know if people stick to their medication timings in their home country (which would be 11 am and 10pm) or try to move to their usual timings in the destination country? Any advice would be much appreciated

To be honest for those two drugs four hours will proabably not make any difference. If you are worried why not shift your doses an hour a day for four days before you go?

Agree with Bob, that’s what I do when going to the States but the odd hour here or there probably doesn’t matter.....but don’t quote me!

Have a great trip.....lots of useful travel tips can be found here......

I take apixoban and flecamide twice a day and travel regularly east and west with 5- 7 hour time differences. I stick to the time of the country I am at so always take them 8 am and 10 pm whatever the time zone on long flight if 12 hrs or more I split the difference .

I think that this keeps me in some sort of normal cycle. And more importantly for me I don’t get more frequent af when flying despite really disliking air travel

I am on the same dose and sometimes I regularly take it 2 hours early or late, so like Bob suggests do the change in steps so it doesn't happen all at once. No big issue...enjoy your holiday!!
