Diltiazem purpose???
Hi everyone, hope someone out there can answer my question. I don’t have AFib but I notice a lot of AFib sufferers take Diltiazem. I’ve been prescribed it to use alongside bisoprolol to help me wean off it as I’m struggling. Not sure how it will help as I don’t have high blood pressure, and from what

Anyone else been called for a Pneumonia Vaccine?
I'm having mine this afternoon - I was stunned when I got the call from my GP's Surgery yesterday, as I don't fall into the 'normal' pneumonia vaccine criteria, even more stunned when they said my appointment was today. I'm 59, have never had any issues with my lungs, and don't smoke. I've never had

PMR and heart disease?
Hello, Question about PMR and heart palpitations. I am wondering if any of you have experienced arythmias? I realize that they can be quite benign, but something just doesn't feel right. I read in a pubmed study ( I think) that people with PMR have a 2.5 x greater risk for a vascular event than matched

Ablation 3 months update, exercise, food and ectopics
Hi all I really benefitted form the testimonials on this webpage, so I wanted to update my case study.. Today it is exactly 3 month since my ablation, done for afib and flutter. Interestingly they found the flutter during the procedure, during a 'test run'. They have dealt with it at the same time.

Metoprolol
I have been on Digoxin, Flecainide and Sotalol without any good results but lots of side negative effects. New Cardiologist (an AP) has directed me to stop Flecainide and Sotalol and take Metoprolol instead... I'm not feeling much better, still on AF most of the time and a feeling of fainting. Any comment

Cardioversion
Had my cardio version yesterday and it took 4 hours from the time I booked in to going home. Most of time was spent pre and post procedure in the recovery room and the next room where they give you T or coffee + biscuits, then into discharge room. I was in that room over an hour as I was in q waiting

Excercise Watch
I know you are all aware of how we can check our heart rate with an exercise watch and do so to make sure we are keeping our heart rate down if exercising or doing something that increases our heart rate. I know some, not so much on this forum but more on exercise forums especially running almost worship

Syphilis
Long story short but my wife had an inconclusive syphilis test when pregnant and then got another test and was clear. As soon as that happened I panicked and took an instant syphilis test with a 99% accuracy and was also clear (negative). Months following this I started to develop random symptoms that

Afib/Irregular heart rate.
I previously had OHS twice to fix an aneurysm and developed Afib and tachycardia afterwards. Was originally on amiodarone and since a small dose of bisoprolol. That was April 2019. I've had no issues since. Recently in May had surgery again for a Cranial CSF Leak. More surgery planned for that as it

Switching from Eliquis to a one a day 325mg Aspirin
Hi guys, just curious, Has anybody been on Eliquis and then changed to one aspirin 325 mg a day instead? I was diagnosed with Afib in 2018 but have maybe one episode a year so my Dr. told me to switch from Eliquis to one 325mg aspirin a day. I am concerned that the aspirin won’t thin my blood enough

After 2 years of telling my doctor that I was experiencing "palpations", I had a 24 hours ecg just before Christmas. This led to my gp rining me to tell me I had PAF. I was prescribed Apixaban 5mg and bisoprolol 1.25 my. Had a very short telephone conversation with a consultant who said the results of

Pneumonia Jab
Hi Everyone, I hope you are all well. I wondered if someone could tell me about any side effects they may have suffered from receiving a pneumonia jab, in the last few years. I'm meant to have one, but was put of by the reaction my mother had, about 15 years ago. I believe they do not use that jab anymore

Can they tell the difference between bph/ chronic prostatitis / CPPS with a cystoscopy?
Background - for the past couple of years I was having problems with passing water, ed/ejaculation problems, pelvic and urethral pain, nerve pain reflected down into the legs and feet when sitting (seems to be brought on by sitting), loss of genital sensation. After a longwinded and tortuously slow process

My update
Last time I communicated with you I was in the hospital after a flight by helicopter. I now know the importance of that flight. I had an infection that went into my blood and caused me to go into septic shock and my internal organs were beginning to be destroyed. I was still out of it the last time I
