Tetanus
Not too far back there was a discussion about having a Tetanus shot, might help PD. I tried a search and came up with only one 2 year old post. No very Techy. Can someone help me find the link to that discussion? Thank you

Azithromycin
Discharged recently from hospital after a long period of exacerbations and then pneumonia. After weeks of oral antibiotics and steroids had to have IV antibiotics. Next time I will probably have to begin IV immediately on flare up. I take 250 mg Azithromycin 3 times a week and was wondering does any

Infections like pneumonia and sinus. Lessons learned.
I’m saddened and sorry for all those who have been suffering from pneumonia and respiratory infections. Been posted of late. As a physician who knows better, I wish I’d followed my on advice to do ALL of the following 1. Test right away for COVID 2. Get a complete viral nasal swab to be tested

Recovery from pneumonia
70 YO F with bronchiectasis - I developed double pneumonia 3 months ago and completed 2 weeks of IV antibiotic treatment in hospital and at home 2 months ago. Is it normal for recovery from pneumonia to wax and wane, to be "nonlinear"? I was getting better 2 weeks ago, the fatigue was starting to lift

nose bleed
was rushed to hospital 2weeks ago for pneumonia. Was discharged after a week. Wasn’t home 24 hrs. And out of the blue my nose started bleeding. It hasn’t stopped. Has this happened to anyone else and what did the doctors do to stop it?

Pneumonia and collapsed lung after catching the ‘100 day cough’
For all you folks who have Lupus, please be careful of this ‘100’ day cough that is going around at the moment, as this is what caused me to end up in hospital. I was diagnosed with Lupus in February 2022. I’ve had a rough ride for the past few years, ending up in hospital every year for one thing

PMR & Cellulitis
Hi, some of you may remember that I posted a while back asking for tips to cope with long haul flights. Well, I arrived in Australia 6 weeks ago and didn’t have any problems after the flights, I just took an extra dose of Pred as suggested. However, two weeks ago I developed cellulitis in my left leg

Streptococcal Bacterial Meningitis
Hi, everyone! I was admitted to the hospital on March 11 and diagnosed with Streptococcal Bacterial Meningitis and hospitalized for 17 days. Just released last Thursday. This was all brought on by an ear infection that I guess turned into meningitis. I had all the tests and scans and was told I was lucky

How can I help my intubated father in ICU?
I am desperately frightened as my father is fighting for his life, he has septic shock due to a liver abscess which has resulted in complications to his kidneys, brain and liver. Yesterday I saw him and he was so sleepy he could barely open his eyes and speak, although he was able to tell me he was in

A reply to Wasabigirl’s post about PID (?) which has since been deleted
You could ask for an MRI of the lower pelvis and muscles there. A sonogram generally cant see those areas (nor a laparoscopy or laparotomy) and pain in those areas can refer to the groin. I had an infection and was only treated with tetracycline for 5 days (many years ago). Then the terrible burning

Pelvic pain and sex
Hi , sorry sounds like a stupid question - Does sex hurt with reoccurring pelvic pain ? Can it trigger the pain to come back or an infection to start if someone has abscess in pelvic area such as fallopian tubes or near ovaries?

Travel Vaccinations
Hi. I have already emailed my Rheumatology Team but thought I would also ask for others experiences. I am considering travelling to countries which recommend vaccinations for things like Polio, Diphtheria, Hep A and B, Cholera, Tetanus etc. Now, I have had some of these in the past but longer than 10

Does asthma severity tend to reflect that of sinuses?
I wasn’t sure where to post this but please tell me if it’s out of place as I’l move it. Basically I’ve had chronic sinusitis with polyps for over a decade. It is more chronic inflammation that’s the issue, with meds the polyps are only small/secondary to the inflammation. I don’t have asthma but
