For all you folks who have Lupus, please be careful of this ‘100’ day cough that is going around at the moment, as this is what caused me to end up in hospital.
I was diagnosed with Lupus in February 2022. I’ve had a rough ride for the past few years, ending up in hospital every year for one thing or another. I’ve been taking Prednisolone for the past two years and was only on 1mg when things started going wrong, again. I started feeling unwell about 7 weeks ago, having caught a cough from one of the kids at school. Didn’t think much of this, but it turned quite nasty. The cough turned into a chest infection, then a turn for the worse, I was rushed into hospital unable to breath and give oxygen. After a chest X-ray, I was treated for Pneumonia and collapsed lung, spent 12 days on oxygen and was eventually discharged 2 weeks later. I had to unfortunately cancel my Easter holiday to Tunisia.
Please be safe everyone ❤️❤️❤️

Oh dear, I hope you get better soon. Is it whooping cough? There’s a lot around here thanks to parents avoiding vaccinations. Although vaccinated I had it as a robust 10 yr old, and was quite unwell. It’s very unpleasant to think of someone who is already frail and immunocompromised to catch it x
Hi Loopy1971I'm sorry to hear you have been so unwell.
My grandson has the 100day cough and I caught it from him. I have lupus sle and lots of other complications. I was quite rough with it . Constantly coughing and bringing up lots of phlegm.
My husband now has it, he is 70 years old and normally very well but this has really taken it out if him. In all our years together I don't think I've ever known him like this.
