Antihistamines: These are found in cough, cold, allergy, and sleep medications. When taking these medications, the elderly are at an increased risk of the following side effects: blurred vision, confusion, constipation, urinary retention, and dry mouth.

For more than 11 years ive been suffering with extreme itching anywhere on the body, often different parts at the same time, all those years ago i was told by gp to take antihistamines , loratadine in particular, never been even offered a blood test.

Antihistamines are doing nothing and neither is the steroid cream. Please give some advice what else this could be. They are flat pink spots that come and go and weirdly they go away when my body is hot.

Has anyone any experience of taking Buscopan the same day as antihistamines? I'm struggling to find sensible advice for interactions and I really need both!

I have previously posted about this and the benefit I gain from antihistamines. I will now add my recent experiences with PPI (proton pump inhibitor ) drugs used to control stomach acid reflux or simply put indigestion.

A&E couldn’t find anything untoward and GP could only offer stronger antihistamines and Montelukast which I have reluctantly started a few days ago. The worrying thing is that my peak flow isn’t too bad but I still have the tightness in my chest which is waking me up at night.

Contacted Dr with these symptoms and an Advanced Nurse Practitioner rang back and has prescribed antihistamines. I had mentioned that over the counter ones hadn’t worked and I am finding it difficult doing an extremely stressful job.I had a blood test in Sept, the results did go back to GP.

Take one antihistamine each day for all the summer to prevent moskito reaction. Only way to stop suffering. I had reaction like this since i'm little. A doctor told me to do this. Moskito prefer some people over other. They like me very much. I don't think it's related to biologic. You need protection
