Newbie - Advice please!
Hi all, I would very much appreciate some advice & opinions. I have been feeling unwell for some time with a variety of symptoms all of which I now feel could be thyroid related, having read up on it a little but I worry that I am being paranoid as googling health issues tends to make you! I originally

Neurologist saying B12 is a 'red herring' - what should I do? :/
Sorry if this seems a bit too much repeated info on my case, but wanted to include some past info, so I could ask an opinion on the problem I have .... In march I started to experience strong numbness and tingling in my left hand to the point it was hard to feel things - (have had multiple occurrences

Confused about IFA/PCA!
Can anyone please confirm that PA is diagnosed by EITHER intrinsic Factor antibodies OR Parietal cell antibodies? My tests show IFA neg, PCA pos. Thanks.

Negative rheumatoid factor and 'clear' MRI scan
Good morning all. After several weeks of very painful joints (neck, shoulders, thighs, knees, etc), I went to my GP. He suspected RD and did bloods. They came back with a negative rheumatoid factor but did show high levels of inflammation. I was then refered to a rheumatoid specialist and an MRI scan

Am I just just b12 deficient or PA? So confused what to do next :(
Can anyone help me please, I am so confused as what to do next.... Over the years I have had periods of numbness, pins and needles in my hands and feet, tiredness, mind fog etc which drs tests usually brought down to iron/folate deficiency. However this time was the worst it's been. In march I started

can you have a normal vit b 12 reading when the intrinsic factor is compromised?
worried sick about my sister, 7 weeks off work now due to 'severe anaemia', iron tablets have improved the FBC reading, symptoms are complicated occurring every second day, lethargic, low energy, dizzy, palpitations, sore joints, waking from sleep with heart racing and head spinning, and change of pallor

Look what the cat dragged in
Photo was taken this morning when I got up - guess it was Sephie as she seems to bring just about everything in - have a plastic snake in the hall that she brought in from somewhere and the grip from a bicycle handlebar in the conservatory - though today's trick was ripping holes in bags - there is compost

How to spot rheumatic nodules?
I have two non painful bumps on the back of my hand and bigger lump on my foot and toe but wonder if they are nodules, and wether it's a problem to have them anyway. I also don't understand the blood tests for inflammation, because mine are always normal but I have bad swelling and a lot of pain. I have

Thanks to all of you who pointed out an error in my Active B12 test done at Blue Horizon. Now have confirmation it WAS an error.
Thanks to all of you in a recent thread regarding Vitamin B12 testing error. I have Graves, and since January, I have been experiencing symptoms similar to Pernicious Anemia, with a red, swollen tongue on 2 separate occasions, and a strange feeling of pins and needles in one of my thumbs, which is now

6 years ago I came down with a mystery illness. So far no doctors had been able to give me a diagnosis, could it be thyroid? More details..
I was just wondering whether if I posted a fairly detailed history of my case, symptoms and test results would you be able to offer any ideas about whether it might be thyroid or thyroid related? Or just any ideas at all really? (I was recommended to put this on here from someone within a Lupus group
