Clots not clearing up
I got the news in May that I had PE in both Lungs, I had another ct scan in November. The results were not encouraging as they were expecting them to clear up after 3 months. Left clot was smaller than before not by much. The right lung. Not at all. I am having another CT scan in May. My Rivaoxaban

Coronavirus Vaccine when on blood thinners.
My hubby got a AVR Jan '19. Got appointment for Vaccine. In the leaflet, it stated if you are on blood thinners you have to consult your specialist. Has anyone been in touch with their specialist? Thank you in advance...đź‘Ť

Stent - I had a heart attack in August and after 3 admissions to hospital was finally fitted with a stent. I am on lots of medication and wonder if it will soon be possible to come off some of it. It seems a bit like belt and braces with having to take aspirin and another blood thinner?

Hit my head and on blood thinners
I stupidly pulled the boot door down onto the top front of my head earlier it really hurt and I immediately got a walnut sized lump.. I’ve checked and there is no bruising... I don’t have any symptoms of concussion but am on blood thinners duel platelet therapy and don’t know if that means I need to

Atrial Flutter and Blood Thinners
Hello Everyone, I am nearly 81 years old and have been diagnosed with a Persistent Atrial Flutter. I was on the operating table 2 years ago to have my varicose veins treated and the surgeon would not operate due to a low heart rate. After some tests I was fitted with a linq device (In my chest). 3 months

Reduction in blood thinners
My Mam had a double heart bypass in July 2019 after CA and many HAs over a 6 year period. Her body just didnt like her stents! She has recovered well and is doing more more than I've seen her do in years, which is great. She has had her blood thinners removed from her med list, however is still on aspirin

Anticoagulants- the risk of stroke v risk of bleeding caused by falls.
Understandably, there is a lot of concern amongst AF patients about the risk of having a stroke compared with the risk of bleeding when taking an anticoagulant. This was raised at a recent Support Group meeting and the speaker, a specialist GP responsible for training GP’s and other NHS staff on anticoagulation

Effects of Aspirin After Oesophagectomy
I take a daily dose of aspirin as a blood thinner as prescribed by the hospital, I have had an oesophagectomy. Does anyone have experience of this and whether the aspirin will damage the lining of the now elongated stomach or intestine.

Struggling with Covid and asthma.
Update: 02/02/21 Hubby and I finally well enough to leave hospital to continue our recovery. It's going to be a long haul as we both have on going issues due to Covid. Thank you for the well wishes. Home at last after 10 days in hospital. Can't fault the care we received throughout. Update: 29/01/21

THE USE OF MSM ( Methyl Sulfonyl Methane) & ANTICOAGULANTS , IS IT SAFE ?
I've been taking MSM capsules 500mg X 4 for many years for knee and rib pain. Is anyone else taking this supplement and what are your thoughts on it? Drugs.com shows no MSM, WebMd shows no interactions, other sites show the Arthritis Assoc. recommends that people on blood thinners avoid this BLOOD

5 eggs fertilised out of 26...
Hi, I am 29 with mild PCO and two totally occluded Fallopian tubes, hence IVF. I am in a same sex partnership so using high quality frozen donor sperm. I had my egg collection yesterday and got 26 which I thought was great, only to hear today that only five fertilised. They say it could be due to OHSS

Anxiety and extreme worry due to health issues
I’ve been dealing with anxiety for almost a decade. My biggest fear came true a month ago when I developed a pulmonary embolism after arthroscopic knee surgery. I made it to the ER in time and my prognosis is positive. I’m currently on blood thinners and started taking Zoloft to help with anxiety but

Unexpected Fast AF
I posted earlier about some AF which started this morning at 0130. I took various Kardia readings and discovered that the heart was beating at about 75-85 bpm for several hours. When I got up at about 0900, however, the reading shot up to 146 bpm, then, very surprisingly, 10 minutes later after taking
