Copious amounts of sputum
Ive had multiple courses of
antibiotics
& steroids. I’ve only just had a sputum sample returned, “bug free!” All these infections have created a new issue. Excessive sputum production. I wake between 3am and 5am every night with lungs full.

Low neutrophil count - update
Some people treated it like a virus, others - like my GP - thought it was probably bacterial and gave me
antibiotics
. So all good, fingers crossed. Beattie

Treating PD with levodopa combined with tetracycline (Effects of levodopa on gut bacterial antibiotic resistance in Parkinson’s disease rat)
The combination of levodopa and
antibiotics
, such as tetracycline and vancomycin, in the treatment of PD may decrease the amount of corresponding antibiotic resistance genes in gut bacteria, which would give a theoretical basis for treating PD with levodopa combined with tetracycline and vancomycin in

Haemophilus Influenzae
I'm looking for input from anyone on our site who might have had trouble with the organism Haemophilus Influenzae; or, anyone who is otherwise knowledgeable about it. I've just finished a fight with an upper respiratory illness over six weeks, and it was very similar to one I fought back in January.

Constant skin rashes
As some may know I have been fighting constant skin rash since November,
antibiotics
help clear it up along with steroid cream but not quite get rid of it . Then a few weeks later I'm back on the same treatment.

Is it normal to have fairly heavy bleeding after a hysterectomy?
I had an infection and was given
antibiotics
, however I have now finished the dosage and I am still bleeding pretty heavily; like a normal period really and the blood is red, not pink. I have also started to feel a bit faint.

Any help appreciated
Two weeks ago Dr asked for a sample of which I had a UTI ( never had one before) having taken the
antibiotics
it didn't shift so a week later I did another sample to be told that I had sugar in the urine, not sure how you can get sugar in urine within one week.

Horrible taste from meds
Had aortic valve surgery and still on
antibiotics
(linezolid) as I had sepsis. Also on omeprazole, bisoprolol and and aspirin. I have a horrible metallic taste that is stopping me eating and drinking. Water and tea taste awful.

18 months along
From January through to July 2022 I had recurrent throat and chest infections so went round the circle of
antibiotics
so having to come off the meds etc Eventually the Nurse Practitioner realised it was recurrent oral thrush due to the steroids.

unexplained lower abdomen infection, increase Prednisone?
I am being kept in due to the unexplained original symptoms, and on
antibiotics
via a Cannula (Saturday evening, and 3 doses so far today) I’m still feeling awful and nauseous. Negative Covid.

feeling cut inside vagina
I have recurring UTIs - Hiprex medication helped a lot but was advised not long term use. Recently prescribed antibiotic for UTI but it feels more like an irritation in vagina - am 73 years of age and gynaecologist has me on list for bladder instillation which I am reluctant about. Any advice please.

Hypothyroidism and sinusitus
I’m finding the frequency and intensity quite debilitating and the doctor keeps giving me
antibiotics
which worries me. It often takes quite a while to get rid of.

Almost died of flu, pneumonia and sepsis - will the fear of death go away?
Quite a difference between the level of care in ICU and a general ward - there were quite a few care lapses, for instance was down for physio every day but only got about 5 sessions in total, and when I picked up a hospital-acquired infection and was put on a load of
antibiotics
with nasty side effects

Mannitol challenge
I obviously don’t want to be taking the steroids; inhalers;
antibiotics
etc if I don’t need to - it would be wonderful not to have to take these, particularly as they have caused health problems.
