Experiences with Salvage Radiation, tips and advice
My husband will be undergoing 39 sessions of salvage radiation in a few weeks and I am looking for any tips or advice on what to expect as far as side effects and how to make it more tolerable for him. He had RALP in November and unfortunately PSA did not drop. PMSA scan found 2 small lymph nodes in

PSA Testing methods, Siemens vs Abbott
Just recd latest results and noticed my previous test was done using the Roche Cobas method and all others with Siemens Centaur. Readings were 0.21 (S) 0.06 (R) and 0.19 (S) .... latest. Any possibility that the different methods are the reason for the tripling. Cheers

Although we are not completely convinced it is needed : PSA went from 2 to 3 immediately after 6 weeks radiation which we expected to happen, MO insists on us adding Zy and prednisone. I am trying to get a second opinion but I did start it about 2 weeks ago. Remain going to the gym 5 days a week as

Dr. Abraham Morgentaler and TESTOSTERONE
IMO, a great interview and eye opener for sure. https://grandroundsinurology.com/interviews-with-icons-abraham-morgentaler-md-facs-and-testosterone-therapy-in-clinical-medicine/ p.s. -- following next PSA I likely will begin my *T* injections again and get back to 1,600ng/dL p.p.s. - apology if

Very pleased to see my undetectable PSA blood test for the ninth time but also that I had a great consult with my London MO and onco nurse where he said he would support me on a decision to come off ADT if this continues to June 23.. BUT he recommends I stay on to July 24. Hmmm .. to be honest I

NHS urology referral rejected twice despite abnormal PSA and abnormal DRE
My GP showed me the referral he made. It has all the information. But the hospital refuses to help saying inadequate information has been provided and they rejected the referral.I have back pain and retention problems. I also have other urinary symptoms. dx at 52, radical surg in 2005 - Gleason 7. Started Eligard 2 yrs ago, 36 sessions radiation in Sept & Oct. - body is falling apart.
Husband got prostate cancer age 52, now 69 and the battle is on. Eligard, radiation… After surgery in 2005 (Gleason was 7), things were good for about five years, then PSA started stair-stepping up in small but steady increments. It was too small to be picked up on scans so Eligard was prescribed

Rule out future whole pelvis radiation?
Just finished hyperbaric Rx (49 sessions) for radiation cystitis(with recurrent gross hematuria). Symptomatically resolved now. Do not know why urologist asked for pelvic US in 2 weeks. Should my PSA eventually reached higher level, 0.14 in Jan 2023, would whole pelvis radiation be contraindicated because

Same Question Again…
For those harboring the CDK12 mutation … curious to know how you are doing… any new knowledge etc. My husband began with Gleason 8. 2017 Prostate removed. 2018… 39 rounds of Radiation… after 18 months of No PSA , it began climbing and he started Casodex and Lupron. He has had two “vacations” from meds

Trial or not
After completing 6 rounds of docetaxel end of May 2022, I had clean scans including PSMA PET and my PSA was undetectable. As of my most recent tests, end of Feb, my PSA has already begun to rise slightly. I am just below 1.0 as of last week with increases shown 2 weeks in a row. There is also evidence

Did psma and did not show anything although psa rose. Then 4 months later took body fdg pet/ct scan and showed lung rose 1.7 to 1.8 in 4 months and mild FDG uptake in other areas. Dr’s will meet tomorrow if big enough to take biopsies anywhere. They feel its from prostate and will see after taking

Re engagement of Enzalutamide in the UK?
Ahead of an oncology appointment, I was wondering if anyone had had positive experience of this, especially in the UK? I have a feeling it is rarely entertained. There is little doubt this drug made the most difference in regressing my cancer but I was taken off it when my PSA started to rise. Despite

Salvage Options after Relapse
Greetings. I was diagnosed with Prostate cancer in 2015 at 49 years old. I had 1 treatment of HDR Brachytherapy at UCSF. PSA consistently dropped (to 0.5) until 2020 when Covid halted my trips back to UCSF. 2021 had me preoccupied with DVT/PE. I’m now reading 3.2. MRI showing still contained in prostate

PSMA PET scan
Husband was DX with prostate cancer. PSA 88. He is 58 so don’t qualify for Medicare yet. Doctor put in order for PSMA PET scan for husband and BCBS denied. We will appeal. I’m sure they won’t approve until we do a bone scan and MRI. He already did CT and it was clear. Since we have a high deductible
