Hi all,
My dad was recently diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic prostate cancer with gleason 4+5. He started on Casodex pill 3 weeks ago and had his first zoladex injection 1 week ago. Prior to starting casodex and zoladex my father was in a lot of pain. However, within a few weeks of just casodex he saw significant improvement in his in pain levels (went from taking extra strength advil 3 times a day to zero pain medication).
He had his first radiation oncologist appointment today and the RO mentioned that may be a sign that the medication he is taking is working. I was wondering if that's true and if anyone else had experiences like this. Is this indicative of how well the treatment is working or is it too soon to tell and only a psa will be able to show?
Thank you
