Countdown (finally) to pre-Christmas AVR
Well after lots of waiting and being in limbo, I finally the other day got my date through for my AVR and
aneurysm
repair at St Thomas's. I'm going in Weds Dec 12 to have the op Thurs Dec 13, which has slightly freaked out my parents as it is the day of their Diamond Wedding anniversary!

I already have a high heart rate and an abdominal aortic
aneurysm
and don't want to be pushing my luck. Any advice please? Have attached a photo of a few of the bruise type marks that are sore to the touch.

Aneurysm v Insurance
I have an aortic
aneurysm
which gets bigger by the year - but only by a bit. Travel insurance increased by 100% to > £800 when I told the insurance company. Does anyone have experience of a) slowing the growth down, and/or b) finding a good (cheap) travel insurance for the US?

Significant bleed following elective surgery - any thoughts?
I received a metallic aortic valve in December 2016 as I had aortic regurgitation and an aortic
aneurysm
. I was placed on warfarin but could never be stabilised on this, with my INR ranging from 1.1 to greater than 8 at any given time.

Struggling
He says I’d be very unlucky if my
aneurysm
has grown again but that’s the kind of luck I have, wish they could take
aneurysm
out but it’s too deep.

I think to myself that, even if I can assure myself of safety with regard to comorbidities, I could still have an
aneurysm
. In a way, being forced to accept mortality is a good thing; that is, as long as I get to live awhile longer to accomplish life goals.

Groin Aneurysm Post Ablation
Has anyone experienced a groin
aneurysm
after ablation? It happened July 3rd and I still have some swelling along with pain. The nasty blue colors are all gone but cannot walk without pain that is like when you press on a bruise.

I'm asked if my aneurysm is "dissected". How would I know and what does it mean?
The question arose while applying for travel insurance.

I have a pfo with a large inter atrial septal
aneurysm
... so I understand this to be a hole between the two chambers which is surrounded by a bulge which is a defect in the structure of the heart. is this the same as adult chd?
