I have just read a book by Robert McCrum called MY YEAR OFF which I saw probably facebook on a BI page. I can't remember which...memory being a deficit for me since my right frontal lobe got nuked by aneurysm popping!
It is a very good read for anyone who has got a BI due to a haemorrhage; mine was a SAH back in August 2016.

I will tell you an absolutely brilliant book .... (drum roll please) .... 'This Is Going To Hurt' by Adam Kay which is well written and a very funny account of what goes on in the NHS. It pulls no punches and (because of the nature of the book) there are some bits which are a bit 'anti politics' - definitely a book for the UK market, or for people who understand the ethics involved in 'Free at the point of delivery' medicine. It isn't a 'carry on' book which is a laugh a minute, and there are sad bits but it is very enjoyable and (best of all) there is a fair chance it will be never made into a film
I may just give it try. I have started to read fiction and am reading Rebus by Ian Rankin books since 2000 which is when I stopped reading them. You get them so cheap on internet. I like your Captain Scarlet picture.
I went into a library yesterday to ask about 'my year off'. Its nowhere to be got in Leicestershire. :-(. So i come home and ordered it off Amazon . I thank you for the recommendation. I had a TBI exactly a year ago which gave me a SAH .
