Advice on low B12 please
Also, my maternal grandmother had pernicious
anaemia
. She died aged 28, in childbirth, due to complications of pernicious
anaemia
(this was in the 1930s though!). I was wondering whether there is a genetic element to the condition? Any advice would be welcomed. Thank you.

Supplements
Hi lovely people. Just a question. In the past, I have had v low iron, folate rock bottom and prob other vitamins low that I never had checked. I have worked a lot on my micro biome/gut this past year plus supplementing continuously. I cut out gluten as leaky gut was diagnosed through a test.

Still beta, so US spelling and orientation, but I think it made a pretty good fist of this one:- Why don’t doctors treat Pernicious
Anaemia
properly? Pernicious anemia is a type of anemia that is caused by a lack of vitamin B12.

Itching for answers....
A bit fed up with the numerous side effects of HU (Peripheral Neuropathy, Actinic Keratosis, Mouth ulcers, Pruritis, Erythromalalgia, flaking/splitting nails,
anaemia
, tiredness, shortness of breath, ) I looked at switching to Anagrelide but made no change as many 'side effects' seem to be common - or

Hi again I have to get my iron levels up.. And my private Endo

Low UIBC result from bloodwork?
Hi, All. I had bloodwork done recently and I'm wondering if anyone knows if the low UIBC might be affecting my RLS/PLMD. Ferritin was 169 (down from very high values after a blood infusion for rls in April 2021). The UIBC was flagged as Low at 126, Iron Saturation was flagged as high: Iron 172 UIBC

Should we lobby for modern healthcare to be a blend of Conventional Medicine AND Functional Medicine?
This is my question of the day... We are all suffering, horribly. From ignorance, mainly. Sorry to point it out... Management of B12, of gut health, of everything that happens to a body from a deficiency relies on the study of functional medicine. It is not the domain of conventional medicine, e.g

Anaemia- CALR+ET
The Consultant Haematologist(NHS) has told me that recent blood tests indicate
anaemia
. Haemaglobin level 110x10gl. He doesn’t consider this is caused by interferon. He has ordered further haematinic assays. I eat a balanced diet so can’t understand why I’m anaemic- never have been.

I'm Alive!
I had heard that some of you were looking for me. I have not been on too much these past few months as I had completely crashed, completely non-functional, with a severe case of iron deficiency. I apologize for not posting what was going on with me sooner. But the severe, severe fatigue just did

My son's blood test results
Could this be pernicious
anaemia
? His grandfather and great grandfather both had PA and I have had similar symptoms that have been treated with levothyroxine.

b12 iron relationship?
Hi friends…I was diagnosed with a b12 deficiency in June, which is thankfully improving with injections (I had horrible neuro symptoms). I had my iron tested twice over the summer, both well in the good range (over 100). However, this week I had an iron panel showing my iron is 40 (literally the bottom

Iron deficiency
Hello I’m asking a question with regards to low ferritin levels (17.4). I’m confused whether I should be prescribed folic acid or iron?!

B12 levels while on 8 weekly injections
Hi all I’m in the UK and am wondering what your B12 levels should be when on 8 weekly injections. After loading doses I started on 12 weekly jabs. After a few years I had symptoms again so it was agreed that I move to every 8 weeks. I started having Symptoms again and my doctor has agreed that if
