As suggested I wrote a request, via Patches, asking for a Gp to refer me to a private endo. I got an appointment for Today to speak to a clincian, who turned out to be a paramedic. He informed me that 'They' do not write referrals to private endos. I would need to approach one myself and if He/She wanted

bit disappointing it didn’t come back positive., but I know they don’t always accurately reflect the underlying condition. It also means my pernicious anaemia could be due to long term use of PPIs rather than autoimmune gastritis. (By the way stopped PPIs in December last year) .

Blood test timing dilemma: advice please
Can you help me figure out how to get round this one please? The last few times I’ve done blood tests, I’ve followed the process advised here and done the test as early in the morning as possible. However, my endocrinologist had a bit of a hissy fit at this (the timing, not that I waited till after

Hi I have been taking hydroxy for 4yrs now. Recently my platelets started climbing up again. At the same time my regular doctor sent me for some tests and my potassium was at 5.6. I had 2further tests and it has come down to 5.4. my blood glucose is also up. My doctor not my oncologist is concerned

Sensitive - How long does it take to get a negative pregnancy test after miscarriage?
Hi all, I took medication for a miscarriage on Dec 23rd (due to a empty 3cm sac). I was told the hcg pregnancy test should be negative 3 weeks after, which will be Saturday. I took the HCG test this morning and the test line is still almost as dark as the control. I was expecting the test to be negative

Iron Deficiency and Iron Deficiency Anemia: Potential Risk Factors in Bone Loss
Members are likely all too familiar with patients being told that they are suffering osteopenia or osteoporosis due to having too much thyroid hormone. And, especially, too much T3. While it is important to realise that there is a case to be made regarding excess thyroid hormone, it is just as important

Prednisone and fatigue
I realize this is just my experience and I don't know if there's any scientific data behind it but in case this might help someone I wanted to post it. I apparently have become castrate resistant and have restarted Abiraterone about 4 months ago. This is my second time I've been on Abi and this time

Possible Leukoplakia
Hi all.Hope your all doing really well this Tuesday. Yesterday I went to my Dentist for my routine check up and Polish and had the polish and clean first then during my check up the Dentist said you have a small pale (not white) on the inside of my cheek. She said it didn’t look sinister but said it

Wits end
I need some advice please. I am currently on 300mg of pregabalin and one codeine tablet a day but this has stopped working. I struggle to get to sleep and when I do I am woken after 1 - 2 hours with restless legs and sometimes arms. I am at my wits end with exhaustion. I had a full blood count recently

Infertility and endo options
Currently starting second round of IVF (x2 embryos in round 1 with x1 negative pregnancy test and x1 embryo left frozen) with endo still on uterosacral ligaments, pelvis and bowel vaginal wall. Been trying to find consistent & clear guidance whether to have remaining endo removed before further embryo

Levo Brands/NICE guidelines
TT two years’ ago from being hypER with goitre. Now on 125mgs Accord Levo. Various ‘symptoms’ but apart from weight gain my main concerns are breathlessness/balance issues/food sensitivities. An interesting consult with my gp this morning and I would like to see what comments the forum might

Advice on latest results please
I’ve had a bumpy ride over the past 4 years, some of it self-induced by being impatient. When I started testing my thyroid everything was low inc tsh and cortisol, in retrospect I suppose my body was just trying to survive on drippings. I was never sure I had a thyroid problem as my tsh was always

is it possible…
is it possible for t4 and tsh levels to change dramatically in 6 weeks? Six weeks ago I did a medichecks test and my tsh was just within the bottom of the range and my t4 and t3 roughly the same as when I tested before…slight drop. Generally, I’ve felt ok for a few months (been on 75mcg, taken regularly

Graves and Carbimazole update
Hello again! I thought I would post an update to share my experience so far with Graves and pose a couple of questions. I had positive Graves antibodies result in September 2023 / low TSH but T3 T4 in range. Radioiodine scan showed increased uptake / hyperthyroidism. Started Carbimazole 5mg per

Switching from Levothyroxine to Liothyronine
Hello, I hope everyone is well. I haven’t written on here for a while as I’ve been feeling quite well so hope you don’t mind me coming back to you now. Although I feel good on my current dose of thyroxine and definitely don’t feel I’m taking too much, my endocrinologist wants to lower my thyroxine

Blood results interpretation required
Hi there, I need help interpreting my results. My symptoms are brain fog, joint aches, lack of energy and anxiety. These have been with me all my life. They got better in 2022 when I started combination therapy. However, I do not think I have reached my optimum (whatever that is) because these symptoms

Hi everyone, hope everyone is having a nice day. A snippet of my story. I am a bad converter T4 to T3. Endo put me on T3 as my T4 was showing over range and my T3 just scrapping in at the bottom. he told me to half T4 from 100 to 50 and take 10 of T3. I was not good on this dose my hypothyroid symptoms

Hello friends 😊 Following my last tests (a bit over 2 months ago), I added vitamin b12 drops 3 days a week, have cut down my B complex to 1 capsule, and I taking a separate Folate supplement as this was getting quite high, and it was pointed out to me that it is a "Goldilocks vitamin" when trying to
