Advice on latest results please

I’ve had a bumpy ride over the past 4 years, some of it self-induced by being impatient. When I started testing my thyroid everything was low inc tsh and cortisol, in retrospect I suppose my body was just trying to survive on drippings. I was never sure I had a thyroid problem as my tsh was always low/normal and after several attempts at thyroid supplementation, I always felt much worse, on both Levo/t3 and metavive. Aaanyway, my last 2 tests seem to point to an increasing tsh/decreasing frees situation. I’ve also tested cortisol this week so will see what those results are.

Any advice on whether I should wait until tsh is even higher or start thyroid hormone again now are very welcome.

My last 2 tests followed all the usual protocols and between the jan and 26/3/24 test, I haven’t used any thyroid supplements. All vits and iron were good last time I tested.

19/1/24

TSH: 2.77 (0.27-4.2)

FT3:4.8 (3.1-6.8)

FT4:14.3 (12-22)

26/3/24 - same ranges

TSH:2.81

FT3:3.9

FT4:12.7

Thank you Radd - I re-posted as I thought I’d not posted properly and I did get a response.

Try not to let impatience get the better of you again. Wait for your cortisol result, it may show that your adrenals need support, in which case you’d need to consider addressing that issue before embarking on thyroid replacement. If you find they do need help, doing so will make for a less “bumpy ride”

This was the advice of Dr Peatfield and it stood me in good stead. I’m in the process of very gradually increasing Metavive dose and have found that I need to also increase Adrenavive a few days before, in preparation, otherwise I feel horrible

Good luck

Thank you Noelnoel - you’re absolutely spot on, I know this from previous ‘experiments’ and can still feel it now. The adrenals are playing a big part in this.

Adrenals are powerful glands and dysfunction impacts everything. They’re too often overlooked and underrated
