Somewhat belated introduction!
I probably should have introduced myself before posting about the woes of my asthma and commenting…sorry :) I am 17yo, biologically female but identify as male. Which kind of sucks but hey, that's life. I have 'hayfever', eczema and asthma (you would never have known that, would you?), and I suffer

Amoxicillin with lupus
Hi everyone, I would like to ask if anyone with Systemic Lupus has been adversely affected by taking amoxicillin (which contains penicillin). I have been taking this drug for over 10 days now and feel it may have caused my lupus to flare. Has anyone else had this experience? Thank you

Amoxicillin dosage.
Hi everyone, I've just been diagnosed with Bronchiectasis in both lungs so this is all new to me. Went to GP last week & was given amoxicillin to help with chest & back pains due to the possibility of an infection, I'm on two 500mg tablets three times a day which adds up to 3000mg a day, I'm not sure

Morning wonderful friends. Blown away by the love and support from you all. Thank you everyone who’s posted or messaged and special thanks to Ruby who started it off. You have really lifted my mood. Small progress on sick front though I can now walk about 12 tottering baby paces and don’t need help

DIY skin testing
Following the sudden arrival and then departure of my itchy rash I decided that I had nothing to lose doing some DIY skin tests before trying each of my suspect supplements and antibiotics to see if I reacted. I wasn't too keen on having the rash again!!! My suspects were Amoxicillin (unlikely because

I have been diagnosed with 'mild bronchietasis' - I would hate to think what moderate or severe is like given my symptoms. Excessive sticky mucus which is so difficult to shift without doing huffing, postural drainage, physio (hubby does this thankfully) and take my meds. I have recently started with

Looks as though were in for a long cold spell so its time to take care and look after yourselves. https://plus.google.com/101523315351693498987/posts/XhQoV1KQqCt I've paid a visit to my GP today and returned home on 30mg of prednisolone and a week of co-amoxiclav, with a follow up check next Tuesday.

Persistent kidney infection: comments?
Hello all. Some background (apologies in advance for my being long-winded): i have a history of rapid onset UTIs with severe multisystem symptoms. They've tended to occur in clusters, over the decades. I soon became resistant to amoxycillin & noroflaxin, but cefalexin 500mg continued to help, so

Dry cough since September?? HELP:(
So I am new to this forum/ Asthma UK, Joined because I really need to know if anyone else has/ has had this issue in the past. I have what I thought was a mild case of asthma, but since coming home from a festival back in August, ive had a cough literally non stop. At first it was thought to be a chest

Side effects of Caelyx - neuralgia & tooth ache
For some time before starting this cycle of chemo I had a sensitive tooth but 3 wks after 2nd dose of Caelyx I developed neuralgia spreading from this tooth up to my ear and down my neck. The pain was unbearable and altho' dentist took x rays, she could find nothing wrong with tooth or gum. She prescribed

Some advice on going to the hospital please *somewhat urgent*
I have a belting chest infection at the moment (my doctor said it sounds like its somewhere between my airways and actual lungs), coughing up a fair bit of bloody phlegm but not a whole lot of anything else but have a violent cough. I saw my GP yesterday and was prescribed amoxicillin and a tapered course

Lichen planus overlap SLE
Have recently seen my GP & dentist about a particularly nasty infected bit of gum that developed from one of my life long characteristic recurring areas of inflammation & ulceration. I've been with this very good dentist for 4 years since my treatment for systemic lupus & sicca syndrome began. I added
