Husband almost dies in induced coma for dt's- Wife cannot lose image of experience
Seems liver is so bad, cirrhosis, ascites and hepatic encepalopathy-
ammonia
in brain, liver stored all the drugs, liver function poor, can't get him out of coma, give him a benzo antidote and opens his eyes.

Thoughts...
She has a lot bottled inside, but when
ammonia
kicks up high, she falls hard only to barely recover and be stable. Before, I would cry so much for her not to leave me, but now I am at the point I don’t want to see her suffer any longer. Ultimately, it’s in God’s hands...

cant get help
hi, I was diagnosed with cirrhosis in 2015, ive had a few hospital visits, with the usual things, stomach drains, high
ammonia
levels, etc. Last w/end I was taken in for high
ammonia
, and discharged on m/day. It seems to me that my gp thinks the hospital will take care of me, so he sends me there.

PLEASE HELP ME!
I know I have cirrhosis but the hospital are not giving me a CT Scan or checking my
ammonia
levels because they said cirrhosis would have shown up on ultrasound!

weird smell
One of our members has suggested to me that PWP may have
ammonia
toxicity and I must say that what I can smell doesn't seem too far removed from an
ammonia
/bleach thing.

Health Benefits: Passion Fruit
Dietary Fiber Passion fruits also contain large amounts of dietary fiber (98% of the daily recommended intake), which helps improve intestinal health, reduces the pH and
ammonia
levels in the colon and thus encourages healthy intestinal microbiota, and relieves constipation and flatulence.

Liver disease +? - fearing near death of a great friend
Her ankles and feet are swollen, stomach is swollen, high
ammonia
level, for the last 2 weeks she is not coherent - awake but most of time knows no one. I'm afraid that the loss of her memory is due to her liver failure and toxins produced in her blood system and she may never recover.

SMELL LOSS & TRIGEMINAL CHEMORECEPTION: Is anyone else suffering from chemical sensitivity in addition to your loss of sense of smell?
These neurons and their associated endings are typically activated by chemicals classified as irritants, including air pollutants,
ammonia
, ethanol (liquor), carbon dioxide (in soda), menthol, and capsaicin (the heat in chili peppers).

Brain Fog/Ammonia on the Brain
I decided to explore
ammonia
on the brain and this is what I found. I realize most PBCers don't have AIH, but some of us have fatty liver. Evidently, this can be prevented to some extent if you start working on early prevention.

My daughter in vegetative state
Her
ammonia
level is very high though we gradually decreased depakote and stopped it . I’m going through a very hard time. I weep most of the time when I go home. She developed ARDS in the icu and recovered. She doesn’t squiz my hand or do anything that shows life.

Can I dye my hair?
I normally use semi permanent dye with no
ammonia
as I think that’s supposed to be a bit safer...but not sure! So sick of having grey roots! Thank you :-)
