Do any of you have a scent of ammonia about you? I could swear I am smelling it on myself, and don't know who to ask around me. It could be in my mind because I've read you can get that smell with Kidney Disease. Otherwise my sense of smell is a bit poor, so it really could be my imagination.

He is also taking sulfameth trimeth (for ammonia) and valacyclivor (for shingles) dropped from 1200 to 800 mg a day.

Another thing I have is brain fog and insomnia, but my ammonia blood levels are normal. What else besides ammonia can be causing the HE? Another thing is itching but my bilirubin is normal. Seems I have symptoms that aren’t reflected in my blood levels. Anyone else have this happen?
