Status Update Post-atrial Cardioäblation:

Had rapid atrial quivering/fibrillation develop in Feb '21 while I was focused on avoiding a second heart attack after having had a major one 9½ years earlier. Got put on meds to see if AFib could be managed that way but worsened to the point that by Aug, my heart was tracked at 244 BPM and I'd collapsed

Valsartan and erection

I recently started valsartan for bp. I take it at bedtime and wake up early AM with an erection. Has anyone else had this happen? From what I’ve heard it’s usually the opposite.

Valsartan and cancer

Does the BP med Valsartan still contain carcinogen? I have recently started taking without knowing about it's recall until I read about it online. I am a ten year survivor of cancer and have genetic risk for it.

Acid reflux, a side effect?

I’ve been on Amlodipine 10mg a day with no review for nearly two years. During that time, and I think gradually, I’ve developed silent acid reflux which is now a problem. Has anyone else had this? Is it a side effect? I’m going to do a week of BP readings to convince the doctor of average reading and

Any side effects fromLosartan? I want to stop amlodipine

I have been having many adverse effects from Amlodipine after more than two years. No more oedema but a lot of vague and not so vague symptoms which could be attributable. I list these below in no particular order: insomnia heightened anxiety weight gain (not sure about this as I started in amlodipine

AMLODIPINE AND CANDERSARTAN

I have been advised to take Amlodipine alongside the Candersartan I already take, for optimal low blood pressure. Anyone else on this combination?

Blood Pressure tablets

I have raised blood pressure. Prof. Graham Hughes recommended Bendroflumethiazide 2.5mg tablets. These have been very good. However my blood pressure has risen slightly - I have tried amlodipine 5mg and also Ramipril 2.5mg and I have had side effects from both. My GP is not very helpful. Anybody

Unwanted side effects

A lot is posted on here about different meds and side effects, I don't think I've ever started a new med without having at least a head ache for a few days, but mostly, that's it. Recently, I've have a bit of a rough time, feeling quite unwell which I put down to one or both of the new meds from the

White Coat Syndrome - when to treat

Hi, Looking for some advice. I have always had white coat syndrome (WCS), not just at the doctor/ hospital but can also give it to myself when taking my own BP readings. In November I went on to Amlodipine (5mg), and this seemed to help but of course, could equally have been the opposite effect to white

Irratic blood pressure

Hi there I am new to the chat. I am still having irratic blood pressure readings after being on high doses of Valsartan. My blood pressure will be stable for a while and then shoot back up again. When it is stable I take half f if the dose. I wonder if that is the problem. Please advise
