Possibly getting off exforge

Exforge is a combo of Amlodipine and Valsartan. I take the one that does not include Hydrochlorothiazide. I thought about stopping it for a while, like 1-2 months, to see what might happen, but I'm also wondering how long would it take to leave my system?

Amplodipine

Hello, First time I have used any Forum. Just started on Hormone injections for Prostate Cancer but they appear to be having an effect on raising my blood pressure to an unacceptable level. Doc has just given me Amplodipine tabs to take with my current meds Valsartan, Atorvastatin and Clopidogrel. Will

Valsartan successfully treated my blood pressure with bendroflumethizide but valsartan was stopped and I was given candesartan 8mg then 10mg

I developed high blood pressure and palpatations. I wore a 24hr BP machine and the called me as the readings were average 220/91. I’ve started taking 16mg Candesartan this morning in hope it helps but I’m really worried now and the palpitations are uncomfortable

19th Consolidation Run

I completed my first 5K on the Nike Running Club app. I feel very proud of myself for completing this run. I had a friend along today who pushed me when I felt like stopping. However, according to my FitBit it was only 4.88km and my friend said it was the same by his Strava, so I think next time I will

Life-taker; Not a Life-saver

Valsartan pharmaceutical company has been ruining the lives of innocent people since 2013. My friend, a victim of this, had to carry himself around to the hospitals every and now and then. The bills started to pile up, and he was completely submerged in that. It was then when I came to know about the

Using Enalapril Maleate after 70 if you have dizziness

I have been taking Enalapril Maleate for over 30 years. I am now 79 and my blood pressure is moderately high but highly variable and I suffer from occasional dizziness. I see that this is a side-effect of EM. I wonder whether I should ask for a change of medicine, maybe to a receptor blocker? The ones

How much can anti-hypertensives affect GFR?

How much can medication affect a GFR? 62 yr old female, resistant hypertension since aged 18. Take ARBs, epleronone, bisoprolol, furosemide, amlodipine, amiloride. BP fantastically well controlled now for past 16 years. It was under medicated for years by my GP who said it was only white coat hypertension

How much Fat intake a day on low carb diet?

Hi as you have probably seen from my other posts, I have started a low carb diet. I was wondering if anyone else on here who is following a low carb/keto diet can advise what should be an average daily intake of fat and saturated fat? I'm worried in case I might be having far too much. Yesterday I consumed

Generic Med Reactions

I have a question regarding generics for Amlodipine 10 mg. I recently started Amlodipine 10 mg. Got my first prescription for one month and it was a generic from Ascend Laborato and it worked beautifully, no side effects whatsoever. Now my insurance requires for long-term maintenance drugs you go

Side effects or illness?

My husband’s blood pressure had always been high - but in November 2020 he was prescribed Losartan after a trip to the hospital. He had been prescribed prednisone shortly before for sinusitis. Since then he’s developed intrusive thoughts and low mood. A second course of prednisone, antibiotics, and

Side effects with Amlodipine?

I've been on 5mg Amlodipine since I had my aortic valve replaced, by transapical TAVI, 6 weeks ago. The tablets contol my blood pressure perfectly, alongside candesartin (which I've been taking for aound 19 years), and although my general recovery from the op seems fine, I seem to be suffering from

Amlodipine question

Does anyone know if amlodipine can be taken on an ad hoc need-to basis as opposed to a once-daily therapy? My mom's BP is largely stable on a very low sodium diet, and only spikes if we go off track. Thank you.
