Amlodipine and bleeding gums

Hi everyone

I have high bp and on 5mg Amlodipine and 5mg Ramipril.I have bleeding gums and teeth pain and I am wondering if anyone on Amlodipine has had anything similar?

Apparently Amlodipine can cause swollen and bleeding gums although my gums aren’t swollen

Can't say I have maybe go to the dentist for a check up.

You take both same meds as me but mine are 10mg never had any side effects to be honest

Just looked at the side effects of Ramipril and bleeding gums are one of them. It also may be that the interaction of Amlodipine and Ramipril overrides the limit.

I’d reach out to your doctor and see what they think. I’ve never heard of this happening before.

I'd been on ramipril and amlodipine for years with no issues until this year. I had a painful area on my gum and the dentist said that my gums were severely swollen, causing the pain. I wasn't aware they were swollen, looked alright to me but I'd never really scrutinised them before.I was told it was due to amlodipine and to contact my GP to change to something else.

I'm now on ramipril and indapamide. The gum is less sore and my BP has gone up a bit.

Is the rise in bp due to the change of meds? I have had pain for a few years now and seems to get worse.Dentist doesn’t know what’s causing it and my gums haven’t been swollen.Even went to the myofacial clinic through it and they don’t know Thanks for replying 🙏

I'm not sure why BP has gone up. I changed to indapamide about 6 weeks ago and it went up a bit but my cardiologist said it takes a while to get into the system.It's gone up a bit more since I started taking amiodarone 2 weeks ago.
