Pregabalin - from 50 mg to 300 mg on my own.
I just wonder why, with
Amitriptyline
been tried, I was not put on this drug 30 years ago! Can anyone out there throw any light on this scenario? Why didn't he put me on the lowest dose to see how I got on?

I'm tempted to just not take the
amitriptyline
tonight to see if I'm OK.

Do I need a second opinion?
They didn't give my endo a stage, they said I was too young (I'm 25) and that I need to try the pill and prescribed my
amitriptyline
for the pain which I already mentioned I don't tolerate well.

Alternative to Diclomax MR
I was also taking 10mg of
Amitriptyline
in the evening but stopped a few weeks ago incase this was contributing to the problem. I'd like to find an alternative that will work through the night and make my mornings easier.

Sleep Issues
Eventually, I was put on
Amitriptyline
(35 mgs) which helped a lot and I settled in to having to get up twice a night most of the time. For the last couple of years, however, this seems to be increasing to at least 3 times a night and quite often every hour!

I have already had 2 steroid injections but I am now considering surgery - doctors are telling me I am too young so have prescribed very low doses of either - Gabapentin (can be addictive) or -
Amitriptyline
(Antidepressent) I wanted to know if anyone suffers from anything similar and what you have

RLS controls my life
I have quite a few health issues, BP, controlled with medication , heart murmur and aortic value disorder, again medicated, I take statins and

Bladder endo and bowel adhesions
I have tried everything to relieve this pain from tramadol, heat patches,
amitriptyline
to eating a soft food diet. Nothing helps. Is there anything else I can do or is this it?

Help - any advice greatly appreciated
They took her off of it and then put her on
amitriptyline
then took her off that and put her on pregabalin (she is currently on 100mg twice a day) but the pain isn’t easing, if anything it is getting worse.

Weight gain with amitriptyline
Hi there just started taking 10mg of
amitriptyline
, I’ve read that it can cause weight gain. Has anyone had this problem when taking this medication. I’m quite worried about this as I can’t exercise atm and I would be quite obsessed with my weight, Thanks

Amitriptyline
My doctor is keeps asking me to take
amitriptyline
for pain and I've always told him that last time I saw cardiologist, several years ago, he was very reluctant for me to take it, I was taking it to help me sleep. I was a chronic insomniac.

Advice please?
He then offered me a steroid jab in my backside and elbows and
amitriptyline
for pain. I refused all as I don’t feel comfortable with his vague diagnosis. He did say I should go to the Caribbean to help the pain 😬 and increase Pred back to 2.5mg one day and 1mg on another? Does this sound right?

Alternatives to SSRIs?
I occasionally take a tiny dose of
amitriptyline
for migraine and nerve pain and wondered if that could be helpful? I was given it once years ago but it made me so exhausted I couldn't move. But perhaps I didn't give it long enough to get used to? I've sent an econsult in to my practice.

Update on my Partner
He was eventually prescribed
amitriptyline
with the approval of the pharmacist at the hepatology department at our local hospital, but this is a daily tablet and his pain is more acute than chronic, and he wanted something to take as and when the pain reached an intolerable level, so he's now been prescribed

No support from GP - need to change meds
I tried Pregablin which didn't suit me and I'm now on 300mg Gapapentin, 50mg Tramadol and 10mg
Amitriptyline
nightly. I also take 2 x 30/500 Co-codamol before bedtime but this wears off quickly and I know it's not a good idea to take the co-codamol.
