Why should ft4 be at a certain percentage through reference range (mid to upper) when on T4/T3 combination therapy when T4 is inactive?
As per the subject title, if ft4 is inactive, then why do some people on T4/T3 therapy only feel good if their ft4 level is at the mid/upper level despite the fact their ft3 (active form) may be at a optimal level? Or if they are not feeling well, why are they advised to increase their Levo dosage if

Update on my daughter's GP call today. So angry.
I'm so angry but not surprised. I didn't expect much tbh. My daughters last Vitamin results from 2022 were B12 290, Ferritin 24, folate 9.2 & Vit D 39. She been on thyroxine since a teenager now in her 40's. TSH levels fluctuating all over the place for past 6 years. Well the GP called today

blue fingers when in hot bath??
Has anyone else had this? It happen to my toes when I was in the shower the other day too. I don’t know if it’s Raynauds or my low ferritin/anemia or what. About to go for a colonoscopy this week for the anemia and a high positive FIT test but I can’t see it being linked to that.

Recommended Tracking App - Easy to use, tracks what I need to monitor for CKD
After searching for a long time and almost giving up, I finally found an app that does everything that I need. Yeah! It tracks my diet and helps me monitor my intake of Sodium, Potassium, Phosphate, Protein and Water, which is important for patients with CKD . At the same time it tracks calories

I have had my Liothyronine changed from 10mcg daily to having to take 10mcg one day, then 5mcg the next day .
I have no thyroid .I presently take 75 mcg Levo and 10mcg Liothyronine and have felt well on that dose (I have no symptoms that suggest I am over medicated) But my FT3 was 8.5 - because there was only about an hour between me taking my Thyroid medications and the clinic taking bloods for a Thyroid

Would an iodine supplement help?
I still don't feel well (very tired and the most dreadful brain fog which has stopped me driving) and wondered how I would know if an iodine supplement might help? Any thoughts would be most appreciated. Latest Medichecks results - stopped taking b12 liquid 2 weeks before test. Taking Spatone, VitaminD

Hi, I’m reaching out in the hope someone is able to help me translate my ANA blood tests. I’ve had symptoms for over a year, predominantly fatigue/exhaustion, painful joints, mouth sores, feet that turn purple when cold (I also have a coeliac disease diagnosis from 2015). My results are back on

How long does a coeliacs blood test take to come back?
Exactly that! I had bloods done on Friday lunch time, including a FBC, B12, folate, and ferritin. Also Coeliac screen (TTG). All the others are back but not the coeliac screen yet. Is that usual?

should I start interferon?
I’d be grateful for any advice or guidance on starting Interferon for ET CalR mutation. I was diagnosed with ET approximately 12 years ago when I was 57. I took Hydroxycarbamide in increasing doses over an approximate 6 year period when the efficacy of the drug began to wane. I was then prescribed
