I ordered the finger prick test last week and it came the next day, read through everything and all clearly explained. So I got up this morning and calmly set about doing it - disaster. Blood came out but seemed to go everywhere BUT the tube, After an hour my fingers are sore as hell and the tube is

I have
alopecia
with thinning hair. I also suffer with hirsutism. I am paying for treatment privately for laser hair removal for my face as this is all i can afford. I did ask my gp who tried to get the cost covered by my local primary care trust. They said no.

Soy lecithin
I've recently started taking vitamin c liquid as aside of it being good for general health I understand it aids the absorption of T4 and T3 - it contains soy lecithin. Is there a difference between soy (which I have been told to avoid as I have hashimotos) and soy lecithin?

Androgenic, Iron?? How do you know?
He looked at my head and pretty quickly said it's probably androgenic
alopecia
. He seemed to be basing this off pictures on the internet, which doesn't fill me with confidence. He has said that he will run tests for hormones but has warned me that he expects them to come back normal.

Wig or no wig
My beautiful daughter in love was born with
Alopecia
and has never had hair. Most people had no idea as she has always worn a beautiful wig. We had a terribly hot summer and their air conditioner wasn’t working. So one day she just tossed it. That Sunday she boldly came to church without her wig.

Male Pattern Baldness [MPB] & PCa risk.
MPB, aka "androgenetic
alopecia
" was associated with PCa in a number of studies. Almost all of them associated the risk with vertex balding & not frontal balding, but there is a study from Freedland that reported the reverse.

Hair loss
I have had hair loss (getting noticeable now) since starting to take 50mg of Levothyroxine a day. Initially, my GP said it was probably due to my age. I went privately to a trichologist who said it was probably due to the Levothyroxine and suggested using Minoxidil (twice a day for the rest of my life

Hair loss....thyroid or something else
Hi, not a frequent poster but try to log on when I can. Looking for a bit of advice. I've been hyper since 2008 and taking meds since to keep it under control. The past year I've been slightly over the upper range for total T3, TSH still <0.01 and total T4 continues to be towards the lower end of

High Ferritin, Low Vitamin D and Hair loss
I am suffering from extreme hair loss. My blood work shows low Vitamin D, and Ferritin in the mid 400's. Treating the low Vit. D with supplements. Went to a rheumatologist for autoimmune but all tests turned out ok. Wondering if the Ferritin has something to do with the hair loss, or what is causing

Miracles TRULY do happen!
Yes they do! And I have proof to show it! Yesterday, my daughter was doing my hair for a Christmas work party, and while doing it she noticed that one of my bald spots has new hair growth! What? No way! It can't be possible Christina, it is terminal, that was what the biopsy results showed. No Mom, I
