I had RAI in 1998 and been on Levo since 1999. Last time I saw an endocrinologist was in 99. Been on 200 initially, reduced to 175, then 150 which made me feel absolutely awful, so increased to 162.5 and feel absolutely fine. Doc stated I was overactive on this, suggested m that I reduce to 125 and we

What’s at the root of this awful anxiety?
I am experiencing intense anxiety, alongside insomnia. Last year, after a few months on T3, I eventually felt really well: best I’d felt for many years. Earlier this year the T3 was changed from Morningside tablets to Roma capsules. Slowly I went downhill. After a couple of months I had the T3 tablets

Doctors want to have a chat about my latest results. I feel well. 100% better than on levo alone. I take 150mcg levo and 25mcg T3 (brand Tiromel). I have told my regular GP that I self medicate T3. I have had full thyroidectomy, 2014. Any guidance gratefully received.

Thyroid and HRT?
Hi everyone - sorry for the long post!! I was diagnosed as underactive over 15 years ago (autoimmune) and, as consultant originally explained, I needed to increase levothyroxin dose over the years. For the past few years I've managed reasonably well on 175mcg in winter and 150mcg in summer. I started

GP phone appointment - I could cry!
Just got off the phone from a very unsatisfactory phone appointment -following blood tests - with yet a different GP at the practice who's never even met me. Sounded very young. Brightly announced that as my TSH was suppressed (It's 0.18 and has been at a similar level for about 5 years, with T3 &

Levo and hair loss
my son has hashimotos , currently taking 75mg, made up of teva 25mg and 50mg accord. However the hair loss is still a huge problem and fatigue has crept back in. The Gp is reluctant to take it above 75mg despite the weight ratio suggesting 100mg. We don’t have recent labs as yet, however his TSH 6

I now have my original blood test (only TSH) from 9th May 2023, after which I was sent immediately to the doctor and put on 100 mg of (Accord) Levothyroxine. It reads "Serum TSH level 18.7 mu/L [0.27 - 4.2]; Above high reference limit". Now I have the recent blood test from 24th June after about 7

Adrenal Insuffiency?
I'm hoping someone in the know on adrenals could offer some advice. A couple of weeks ago I was very unwell with chest pains, shortness of breath especially on laying down, pressure on my breastbone, feeling rather feverish. I was advised by GP to attend A&E who weren't sure what it was and suggested

Thyroid Gland Swelling etc...
Hi, I think my thyroid gland may be a little inflamed. Over the past 4 - 5 days the area around my gland has felt a little achy. It comes and goes, and is not painful, but I am aware of a slight ache. I doesn't seem to have worsened and doesn't show any visual signs of inflammation, and it is not painful

Levo Hell Now NDT - How Do I Instigate Tribunial?
Thank you for this forum - it has been a light in dark times. You are all fabulous and I thank you for sharing. I just had 8 months of our hell from day one on Levothyroxine. Felt sick, heart racing, couldn’t think straight, breathless heart wheezy, very dark suicidal thoughts, lost my whole life

Daily dose vs weekly half life - how does this work?
Hi there. I was recently diagnosed with very mild hypothyroidism, which feels like such a relief to explain all my tiredness, depression and unexplained weight gain! I'm really struggling to get my head around how the dosing system works though and would really appreciate your insights as my GP seems
