Dry mouth
Hiya people,I have been on 100 m levo for 18 months, underactive, I've realised since I started taking them, I have constantly chewing gum and eating mints, previously wasn't a chewer, but my mouth is dry all of the time, maybe its the acid reflux? I welcome comments or maybe someone can concur?

Results advice in dealing with GP
I have just received my latest blood test results along with request to make appt for telephone conversation with surgery. I had increased Levo from 75mcg to 87.5 mcg myself on 2nd November through private supply because I felt unwell. I now know doctor (It’s always someone different) is going to want

Do view the original which includes a map and various links. 16 to 20 months is so much more sensible than the few weeks so many previous studies have been based on. [i]

Hello. This is my first post, although I’ve been lurking here for a while and have been gradually increasing my Levo dose by following the advice on this forum. I’m not quite where I want to be yet, but definitely getting there. I’ve also been struggling with my vitamin and ferritin levels, so have started

Hello. These results are my mums. GP prescribed 25mg levo for 28 days. They haven't carried on with prescription and these results came back as 'normal'. Any help would be appreciated, thank you 😊

Considering switching to Levo and Tiromel when run out of Thyroid-S but don’t know what equivalent is, can anyone advise please?
I’m thinking about switching to Levo and Tiromel when run out of Thyroid-S but don’t know what the equivalent of each is, can anyone advise please? I am currently on 3 grains daily. I’ll have to source my own Tiromel but it may be easier than the stress of sourcing Thyroid-S. I may try just Levo first

recurring illnesses
I’ve been trying to get stable on t3/4 combination, still a way to go as last results after increasing to 10 mcg liothyronine in 2 doses were the worst yet, t3 and t4 both at bottom of range, vitamin D draining away again despite supplements. I’ve increased levothyroxine back up to 75 ( I was advised

Help with whether leg pain is side effect of brand of levo prescribed
Hi Everyone I had a parathyroidectomy in January 2023 which resulted in me being hypothyroid (TSH 22.) I was put on 50mg levo which following quarterly blood tests was increased to 75mg in May and 100 mg in November. My blood test last week finally saw my TSH in normal range. It is 2.94 mU/L (range

levothyroxine induced lupus erythematosus?
Hiya, I am fairly new to all this, I have been on Levothryroxine for Hypothyroid (Hashimoto’s disease.) since June. My initial symptoms started after my first covid infection. All was going well until November time when I started to develop a Malar rash in the classic butterfly shape on my face. I don

Folate when SI?
Hi everyone, How much folate is recommended when injecting B12? The folate tablets I have are 400µg. Also, can anyone kindly comment on my sudden lip problems? I awoke 4 mornings ago to blistered lips, they were slightly worse the next morning. The blistering seems to have stopped but my lips are

T4 in NDT
I wondered if anyone know how the T4 in NDT works. Each grain contains about 38/39 T4 but does it works the same as Levo i.e. taking weeks to work? I am now starting back on NDT with no thyroid and a very low FT3 and I am thinking of adding some T3 to it until the T4 in the grains start to work. I

Getting myself in a hell of a muddle!
I have been on levothyroxine for 10+ years and never had a problem (well not since the early years) - I have been getting along nicely on a dose of 75 for the last few years. I was at the GP's a few weeks ago about something not related to my thyroid and happened to mention in the conversation that

Hypothyroidism & ADHD /meds
Hello, community! I’ve suffered from hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid) since childhood, and after many years of poor response to Levothyroxine, successfully moved onto treatment with Natural Desiccated Thyroid almost ten years ago now. Switching to NDT was life-changing, and has really improved

Levothyroxine - options for taking it
Hello, I am wondering if its possible to split dose for example take 25mcgs in the morning and 25mcgs in the evening and if anyone has found that there are less side effects splitting it this way? Increased to 37.5mcg (by cutting 100mcg tablet) on 13th January and then went to 50mcgs on 25th January

Update and latest results
Hello again lovely people. I thought I’d come back and update having been on Levo 50mcg since diagnosis 3 months ago. In early January the GP asked me to retest and only TSH was done (big let down but not unexpected)! I was amazed that after only 2 months on Levo 50mcg that my TSH had dropped to 0.44

Dr. Bianco: video from Thyroid Foundation of Canada
from 9 months ago. Somehow it ended up in my youtube feed this morning. He makes the point that L-thyroxine doesn't always manage to result in good fT3 levels and patients need Liothyronine. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PGlYO_H4Gdc&t=2682s
