I’ve posted here a few times of late, been feeling rough and exhausted since switching from Levo to Erfa 5 weeks ago. I’ve emailed the private doctor to get some advice as to whether the dose is correct she put me on. She’s said my question re doseage isn’t easy to answer and also she charges £20 for five minutes consult between appointments. I feel like walking away but then I’ll need to find another doctor! She didn’t advise I may feel rough switching. It seems money first, patient care second 🤨. I’m doing my best trying to learn about this but there is such a lot of information and I struggle to retain it and find my way thru the minefield. I had thought switching to NDT from lab based meds would be better for me. I’m unclear whether the nhs would help if I were to try Levo and some T3, I didn’t even know that was an option til I joined this site! I’ve just believed til recently what I was told that the Levo will replace what my body can’t make so any symptoms I’ve had over the years aren’t thyroid related. Now I find out they probably all were! It’s a lot to take in.

please can someone advise?
I doubt anyone can tell you if the dose is correct until you have been on a stable dose for 6-8 weeks and done some labs. Its impossible for anyone to say the exact equivalence of levo to NDT as we are all so different in absorption and use of the hormones.
As you aren't feeling well then likely you need an increase and as was stated in your previous post the dose you are on is fairly low. healthunlocked.com/thyroidu...
When seeing a private doctor its always best to know in advance their fee structure and what it includes. Some more popular doctors do add a lot on in fees inbetween visits for various things.
Have you ensured your key vitamins are all OPTIMAL? Ferritin, folate, B12 & D3.
What are your latest results for those?
You would be better off sticking with the NDT that you have for now and increasing slowly.
What were your doctors instructions regarding increases?
Thanks so much for replying Jaydee. The doctor didn’t tell me she charged for asking questions between appointments and I’ve not troubled her til this point! She isn’t an endo so I am Wondering if I might be better off with a specialist but that means starting everything again! As previously stated I went to her for thyroid help and she wanted me to go on LDN first then look at thyroid. I decided not to take that. I’ve just come off pregabilin 7 months ago (cold turkey) so my thinking is why then just go on other meds, seems pointless to do that! Am trying to be more natural with what I put into my body
B12 is 469 (189-883) D3 is 200 no parameter just says >50 is Vit D sufficiency, folate is 8.4 (3.10-20) ferritin test was omitted so I have to go back for that. I also take selenium to support my thyroid. So supplements reasonable I think.
She didn’t tell me about increases just said take 1.5 grains. I’ve felt a bit better taking 1 grain during the night and then 1/2 grain mid pm. I think I will try 2 grains tmrw and see if that makes a positive difference.
I would stick with who you are with now. Can she not answer a quick question by email for free?
Your D3 is a little high. Optimal is 100-150 so perhaps you could drop your supplement slightly.
Folate should be towards the top of that range and your B12 is less than 500 so there is room for improvement there. I'd recommend a good methyl/active B complex to help keep all the B's in blance. I'll post a choice of 3 for you to pick from.

If it's any help, i felt absolutely exhausted switching to armour from levo(now take erfa). Literally fell into a deep sleep if i so much as sat down. It settled in time and works much better for me. Do check vitamin levels, D, B12, folic acid, iron etc regular too.
