Loss of smell and taste
Hi all, I was diagnosed with asthma in the summer after previously only having had hayfever and other allergies. My asthma has not been good lately so I'm using inhaler and also nasal sprays. I've noticed that I can't smell or taste anything at all these past weeks. I dont have Covid symptoms so I'm

Skin allergies
Hello there to everyone. First want to thank everyone who replied to me on my previous post. I consulted a doctor as advised and I have gotten much better. I'm now on montelukast and given another inhaler. (still Seretide because of tachycardia that doesn't flow well with salbutamol) The problem now

Unusual allergy-induced asthma symptom or unrelated (mild shakiness)?
Hi there, I had a recent flare up of my allergy-induced asthma, which cleared up after 8 weeks (and after speaking to the asthma nurse, we came to the conclusion that an allergen had triggered the flare up, I believe it might have been fungal/mold spores in the garden). A few days later I had a smaller

Asthma General Enquiry
Hi, I am being treated for asthma as I have the classic symptoms - shortness of breath, tight chest, difficulty getting a satisfying yawn. I have had the blue inhaler for a few years - and my peak flow sits at ~330 before and after using this. I have used the brown inhaler for a few years but it doesn't

Allergies are not always as they seem
Allergies are not always what they appear to be. By this I mean that if you have an undiagnosed connective tissue disorder, chances are you are experiencing a histamine reaction that is actually your immune system over stimulating. Stress over any situation can bring about a histamine reaction. It may

EXPLAINER: Allergic reactions to vaccines rare, short-lived.
Vaccines can sometimes cause allergic reactions, but they are usually rare and short-lived. Covid vaccine allergic reaction
Morning folks has anyone got thoughts on the allergic reaction experienced by two health workers to the vaccine. I had a severe allergic reaction to intravenous iron 44 years ago and was told it was most likely caused by the 'vehicle' , if you see what I mean, used to dispense the iron....?

People who suffer from ‘significant’ allergic reactions should not take Covid vaccine
As we have a number of members who have reported various allergic reactions - whether or not related to thyroid issues - I am simply posting this as an alert.

Feeling concerned I've just read people with some kind of allergies have reacted in not a good way to the new vaccine covid 19 it leaves me feeling optimistic about it now as I have allergy problems which flares my asthma up constantly.

Random symptoms and new allergies??
I wondered if anyone has had anything similar to me as this year has been terrible and the doctors and nurses I have seen aren’t able to give much explanation. My symptoms consist of my chest becomeing really tight, it almost feels like the back of my throat is tight and my breath feels wheezier too

update: Am I being unreasonable re pet "allergies"?
So.. My dog IgE test results came back the same as they did last time I had this test done - a score of about "100", which is above normal, but way below what you'd call a strong allergy (for perspective, a lot of allergic asthmatics have a score of around 1000). Had another phone appointment, this

Some praise for allergy drops!!
Hi everybody, I was diagnosed with allergic asthma two years ago and my body never agreed with inhaled steroids (the side effects were horrendous: depression, lack of energy, extreme weakness... the list goes on). A year ago a doctor put me on allergy drops, which combined my three allergens (dust mites

Am I being unreasonable re pet "allergies"?
I'm new here, and wanted some advice re my new Dr. She is adamant that my asthma flare ups are due to my parents' pet dog. I have severe brittle asthma with a few classic allergic triggers (pollen, dust, animals) but have always lived with a dog and most of the time my asthma is fine. I get flare-ups
