Why is this not a standard test?
What I don't understand is, why don't they routinely order a urinalysis when they do the urine
albumin
test
? I told my PCP today that I wanted a specific gravity test done at the same time so I KNOW if I'm dehydrated or overhydrated.

Concerns about kidney disease
My regular urine
test
was negative for everything ....But the micro
albumin
test
revealed some protein in my urine ... in the high range. It shows microalbuminaria.... I am an emotional wreck... I have talked with Primary Dr.

Trying to figure out how big a problem protein in urine is.
I urine
test
and it said my
albumin
was 50. Since normal is between 30 and 300 this seems low but I haven't been able to ask my Dr. yet. Can you guys help me out? Is it a trace or something that I should be concerned about. Thanks.

Need advice how to take T3 I bought on my own (so no help from my doctor :) ...
Hi to everyone! I am new here so let me introduce myself first. I am a 66 year old retired woman suffering from hypothyroidism for the last 25 years. I've been on liothyronine 150 mcg since then (sometimes on higher doses without any change) but in all these years I am really, really suffering. No energy

Constant fatigue and depression.
Hi everybody. I have hashimoto, hypothyroidism, since 35 years. My thyroid has now shrunk to next to nothing. Since 2 years my dosage, that used to be perfect at half of a 175mcg of T4 tablets per day, went up to 175 per day, and doesn’t seem to stop going up. It’s a roller coaster ride. One out

Low carb, high fat diet
When I was first diagnosed I decided I wanted to watch my weight. I had put on weight over the years and was 12 stone. I had read about reducing carbohydrates. A few months after my PMR diagnosis I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. I read all I could and changed my diet to a low carb, high fat diet

Low Stomach Acid
Does anyone have low stomach acid and wake with a sore throat and chest? I get a lot of indigestion, not sure if it is age, hypothyroidism or thyroxine. How do you treat it?

Tired and miserable with bladder problems. Side effect of Tagrisso.
I have been taking antibiotics for what I thought was a very bad urine infection that I could not shift. I have been referred to the urology department of the hospital and on Thursday had a ultrasound. On Monday will have a camera pushed up the urethra and into the bladder. My GP has told me that there

The DI01 mutation causes a change in the FT3/FT4 ratio
This is a rather old post but will be interesting as regards the change in the FT3/FT4 ratio (ie conversion). The mutation allows more FT3 to be made from a given T4 dose.
J Clin Endocrinol Metab. 2008 Aug; 93(8): 3075–3081.

Thyroid not functioning well
Hi everyone, My thyroid isn’t functioning well according to my body and blood work based on the amount of t3 I’m taking. Trying to get to the bottom of it. Anyhow I gained 10 pounds this winter which newer naturopath is blaming on lack of exercise/getting older (approaching 40). Not denying I could use
