Cortesal test

My albumin test was normal. In short how is it I feel pretty good, apart from the usual shoulder stiffness? I'm currently on 5mm Pred on a slow taper from my last flare last year, when I went back to 10mm.

Why is this not a standard test?

What I don't understand is, why don't they routinely order a urinalysis when they do the urine albumin test? I told my PCP today that I wanted a specific gravity test done at the same time so I KNOW if I'm dehydrated or overhydrated.

Mild Proteinuria. Can it be temporary?!

But when i did a 24 hour urine test it showed 184mg protein which have 60mg of albumin. From then i developed a severe anxiety and cant stop thinking about it. My doc says its nothing to worry about and he said to retest in 3 months. But when ever i pee and see foam my anxiety doubles.

Concerns about kidney disease

My regular urine test was negative for everything ....But the micro albumin test revealed some protein in my urine ... in the high range. It shows microalbuminaria.... I am an emotional wreck... I have talked with Primary Dr.

T3 only and HRT

I would love to know if anyone is on T3 only plus HRT and feeling good. If so, what dose of T3? Thanks.

Infection or Cancer?

Hi everyone - Thanks for reading this. So grateful for the ability to share my story and learn from others. 57, with history of kidney stone disease and diagnosed BPH with very mild symptoms. Timetable 2/22 PSA is 1.23 a rise from .9 a year earlier but 10 years of PSA tests before that

Clonazepam instead of Pregabalin?

I have just had a telephone appointment with a Neurologist which lasted all of 90 seconds, part of which he spent looking through my notes and came to the conclusion that I should try Clonazepam instead of Pregabalin for 6 months. He wasn't interested in listening to anything I had to say about iron

Amiodarone treatment: Could this medication be affecting T4 to T3 conversion?

Hi all this is my second post concerning the effects of Amiodarone on the thyroid. I don't have a thyroid but this medication also effects T4 T3 conversion. In my previous post some well informed and knowledgeable people suggested that I keep a close eye on my thyroid levels along with being vigilant

Second year report

It might be of interest to read my relatively banal account of ‘progress’ after two years, just up. PMR has not, of course, gone away. I am now on 3.5 mg having got to 3.0 in March but - without necessarily flaring - then having struggled too much to be able to manage a six week semi-work trip to Bologna

thank you!

We’ve just had a helpful telephone call with Roddy Hughes. He said I was right and mum had most likely flared. I am so thankful that this site has given me the education that I was aware of what was perhaps going on with her and the courage to up her steroids myself. He seemed very unphased that

Test or waiting for period?

Hi there, I just wondered what people found most useful towards the end of the 2WW. Waiting to see if your period naturally starts ( hopefully not), or doing a pregnancy test (such as clear blue test 6 days early)? I hate seeing the words ‘not pregnant’ on the tests, but also hate it when your mid work

Shocked, scared, confused and excited *sensitive*

I had my first cycle of IVF in April which sadly didn’t work and I got my withdrawal bleed on 1st May… So I was expecting my next ‘natural’ period by yesterday so that I could get started with mg second cycle but there was no sign of it. This morning as I still hadn’t got my period I did a pregnancy
