What are your thoughts on breathing techniques vs medication?
Hi Everyone, I am sufferer of asthma, and it has been brought to my attention as to whether the effectiveness of specific breathing techniques vs medication could assist in increasing lung capacity. Breathing techniques: Some sources suggest that breathing exercises can help alleviate asthma symptoms

Covid?
Hello everyone, About 5 weeks ago I came down with Covid. Seemed to get through it ok, but about a week after my asthma starting playing up. Symptoms are breathlessness mainly at night, mucus of chest that’s hard to cough up, tight chest which relieves when taken inhalers. Spo2 is around 97% slightly

Toddler breathing issues during sleep
Our 3yo daughter has recently developed asthma like symptoms, post covid. We have been prescribed with an inhaler, which we have used sporadically when she has needed it. Her breathing seems most erratic when she is asleep, we try to watch for all of the signs that she may be struggling for breath,

My Bronchiectasis.
Had a chat with my Consultant on this Bronchiectasis, I don,t bring up much phlegm so he thought that was good, it meant it is not too bad. He said increase my Asthma inhaler from 100/6 to 200/6. Try to be active, up to a point, in other words do not go overboard. Keep on with Incruse Ellipta, although

Who even gives a damn?
I've been feeling kinda pissed and angry and annoyed today and I suppose I figured out why. No one seems to give a damn lately not even my partner. I know he's been super busy lately with touring with his band and I don't blame him but I wish people would pay more attention to me. I had a very rough

Well, that was a disaster...
Sorry to post twice in one day 😆 I just had my asthma review (phone appointment) since changing from Relvar to Symbicort. I told the nurse that the Symbicort had been working really well but I've had a flare-up in the past week and my asthma's been all over the place since getting a cold. I explained

Spirometry results
Hi I guess I'm just looking for reassurance even though I've had alot I've attached my last spirometry Feb 2020 prior to this spirometry I had first one and the fev1 was 91% fev1/fvc 64% as you can see this screen shot was a better reading, so doctors say I may not need an inhaler so if I'm classed

A sobering experience- and an update to an earlier post
I have had a rather nasty experience this week. It’s linked to an earlier post regarding changing inhalers and becoming so breathless I found it difficult to move from one room to another. Fast forward to Tuesday when I had a second ecg at my doctors. The nurse took my ecg to a doctor (that happened

Hello kind lung people!!
I thought I'd drop in for a bit. I am now on trimbow inhaler and although I am not up skipping and jumping it has made a difference. What holds me together is staminer . Like walking to the shop and it feeling like the last push to the summit on eEverest. Just like trying to make my heart beat go over

Lung reduction.
Hi, I'm new to the forum. I got diagnosed with COPD by my GP last October after a chest x-ray. GP referred me to the lung medicine clinic, luckily got an appointment in January. My fev1 was 19% which explained why I was struggling. I didn't get to see my consultant at the appointment unfortunately. Prescribed
