Finally finished prednisolone.
Hi all, after just over 7.5 years I've finally managed to stop pred. It's been a very long and slow reduction with the inevitable hiccups along the way. I ended up on 0.5mg every 2 days and finished last week, with no ill effects that I'm aware of. The last PMR symptoms I had were in 2020. What I'd like

Update on NOT a UTI
Hi, just to update. I had the cystoscopy this morning, not a pleasant experience, but no cancer, no inflammation and no gritty substance, so that at least is good. She did say some people's kidneys do just excrete microscopic blood particles as their normal, but that I possibly have overactive bladder

Down to 5mg! - wondering about changing timing of dose?
Hi Everyone, I haven't posted lately as I have been steadily reducing using Dorset Lady's 5-week plan - at a .5mg rate since 7 - with a few pauses along the way to manage stress points (such as my BP meds that I had been on since 1990 suddenly ceasing manufacture!). Generally feeling much better,

osteoporosis
I was told I had osteopenia whist workng as nurse in the xray department ( a dexa scan machine was new so all females were able to have a scan to give experience to the radiographers who had been trained in osteoporosis and scanning, I must admit I did have several scans under this 'scheme' and eventually

Dexa Scan
Just looking for a bit of advice. I have been on Pred since Oct 21 and have tapered down to 5mg. One of the reasons I have not tried to reduce further is because I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in Dec 21 and was having treatment in 2022 & 2023. Now all this is completed and I am on Anastrozol for

Why does my rheumatologist want me to go onto Methotrexate when I am on a low does of Prednisolone and am getting good symptom relief?
I am now down to 2mg of Prednisolone a day. From a few weeks in my rheumatologist has wanted me to go onto Methotrexate. I have never achieved total symptom relief and recently I've probably been slightly stiffer than before, certainly in the mornings. My last blood tests showed that my CRP had gone

Colonoscopy and Prednisolone
I am booked for a colonoscopy on 21 December at 2:40 pm. I have no other details and await a nurse to ring prior to the procedure. This news has not helped my anxiety, which has, of late increased to a high level for various reasons. I’ve read, and heard from friends, many horror stories about the medication

I was told in my recent medication review not to take Adcal on the day I take Alendronic acid as they bind together and are lost- any thoughts? Been doing it wrong for five years!

Night sweats again
Hi all, I have reviewed many posts for answers on this but symptoms and underlying issues are variable and so posts are inconclusive. I have SLE and Sjogrens. I also have drenching night sweats. Here's my summary: 1) I'm male, so they're not menopausal! 2) My medication has been stable for years: Hydroxychloroquine
