Blood results from medichecks
Here are my recent results from medichecks. I would appreciate any comments I supplement with Magnesium , selenium vitamin D3 and k2 and Thorne Basic B and a B12 spray. My GP has seen my low tsh from an NHS blood test taken at the same time as the medichecks and wants to speak to me I should imagine

It's back what supplements are ok?
Hi all, Budge up everyone, I need a place at the PMR table again. My last Pred was taken in December 2016 or so I thought. My osteo arthiritis flared a couple of weeks ago but after three days of Flarin it didn't calm down. I noticed after a while a few familiar shoulder twinges and booked a telephone

CATCH UP & DEXA SCAN
I have been prescribed
Adcal
D3
which I am struggling to take ( chewable 2 tabs everyday ) they make me burp and feel queasy, but I must take to help my bones. On the bright side I am taking 5mg of Pred now and not doing too bad ! Also had my Covid booster and flu jab with no side affects.

Testosterone Injections
I recently had my blood sample taken and results reviewed by the Men's Health Clinic. They couldn't do anything for me because my testosterone levels were in the 'normal' range (specifics below). To be honest they didn't take me seriously from first contact due to me not being in the 50+ age bracket,

Timings of meds...
Morning everyone. GCA since last September. Tapering on the 5 week, DSNS programme coming down by half mg, now on 9, heading towards 8and half. Meds are omeprazole at 7.30, pred with breakfast at 8-8.30, first Adcal at 11 ish, last at 9ish. AA still reluctantly, but in the weekly advisory way. Question

27 years off dialysis
In 1995 almost died from meningococcal sepsis. Was hospitalised over 6 months requiring wound care, debridement, skin grafts, amputations of fingers and toes. The resulting kidney damage classified as meningococcal Waterhouse Fridericksen syndrome. The treatment was dialysis to remove the bacteria

Combined vitamin D, omega-3 fatty acids and a simple exercise program may reduce cancer risk among active adults aged 70 plus
In the "DO-HEALTH" randomized clinical trial with 2,157 relatively healthy participants aged 70 plus, supplementation with daily high-dose vitamin D3 plus omega-3s, combined with a simple home exercise program (SHEP), showed no significant improvement in systolic or diastolic blood pressure, nonvertebral

My concerns about anticoagulation ... foolish or appropriate?
I am 75 with 6 short AF episodes in 16 months. I am unmedicated at the moment except for the loading dose of Vitamin D3 I am now taking for a deficiency. I have my first ever cardiology appointment in a month or so, at which I expect the subject of anticoagulation will arise. I have no other heart related

Aetiology of AF and Vitamin D deficiency ? Are they related?
I am only 16 months into my so far confusing life journey with AF. I am 75 and otherwise healthy, and not medicated as yet for any health condition. However my latest AF event initiated a blood test which indicated a deficiency of Vitamin D. As seems commonplace these days, sadly I have received no

Co-supplementation of Vitamin D3, Vitamin K2 MK7 and Calcium
Unless you are actively increasing your Vitamin K2 MK7 levels through diet or supplementation, you are likely deficient and have inadequate levels for your bone and heart health needs. Vitamin K2 MK7 dosage recommendation is 150 to 180 mcg per day. Consult with your physician and a Registered Dietitian
