Question on treatment options (long)

Recently diagnosed with age related osteoporosis, vitamin d deficiency and hyper parathyroidism. I am 67, breast cancer survivor (diagnosed 2014 with stage 1 and did not need chemo or radiation but did take a pill for 5 years and had a double mastectomy) and in 2021 was diagnosed with endometrial stromal sarcoma which was treated by a complete hysterectomy and chemo. Currently all is well but have been diagnosed with what was stated in first sentence. Recommended treatment is to take vitamin d3 and calcium. Also to start denosumab, such as prolia or romosozumab such as evenity. Both have serious side effects and I am not one to take drugs unless I absorb have to. Am looking for experiences from those who have dealt with this before I make my decision. Thanks for any feedback.

I have no experience with these drugs but can suggest something else. I have had a hysterectomy and take premarin to help prevent osteoporosis, which unfortunately you already have. But perhaps it would still help. Ask your doctor.

Have you contacted any of the arthritis charities? One of them might be able to assist you.

Have taken Vit D/Calcium supplements (prescribed by GP) for last 10 years -was on steroids for another illness for 4 years. -Following DEXA scan in 2019 after steroids were stopped recommendation was to remain on supplements so I did.

Might be worth looking at this site for info -
