One year on, happy Christmas!
Hi all, I have reached my one year anniversary since my HA while out on a 30 mile ride last Christmas Day. So I spent last Christmas in A&E and then the cardiac ward in the PRUH with a visit to Kings College for my stent. Wasn’t what was planned that’s for sure! LVT was then diagnosed so more stress

Follow up to Monday CABG
First of all I want to thank you all for the messages of support i received before my operation on the 19th of February. The good news is that my triple bypass was a success ! I spent a total of 10 days in hospital, I had a few ups and downs, but overall I have had a positive experience, albeit sometimes

wierd symptoms mostly at night…. Plus diet
Since MI diagnosed last Sunday, going to be medically managed and monitored for now (stenosis in 2 places in LAD not serious enough for stent initially, another site with total blockage beaching off really distally but too small for intervention). I’ve been getting odd feelings in my right leg - sometimes

RLS returned after taking Duloxetine
Had RLS for many years, associated with Fibromyalgia. Having taken Amitriptylene, Nortriptyline , Pregabalin for my Fibro, my RLS has been under control. Recently started taking Duloxetine to help my Fibro and my RLS has returned with a vengeance. I get very little sleep, as soon as my head hits pillow

Travel Insurance post Bypass
Hello All, I hope you’re well and doing your best on your various journeys. It’s been 5mths since my emergency triple CABG and recovery has been slow but it’s one day at a time. I was considering booking a little trip away as a little treat hitting 6mths and my Doc saying I can fly again but I’m absolutely

Excessive yawning when walking- a weird one
The past few days I've been struggling with fatigue, heavy legs and chest pain niggles, not feeling up to my usual walks. Today, I thought sod it & decided to push through & go for a walk. Did my 15 min warm up on the flat & started to walk up a slope - then I started yawning. For the next 10mins

Just diagnosed with 4.0 cm aneurysm of ascending aorta and severe calcification
Hi Friends I cannot express how shocked and dismayed I am finding out that I have severe calcification of my aorta and a 4.0 cm aneurysm. I have read that the aneurysm can be monitored yearly with imaging but there is nothing that can be done for the calcification. In the past 3 years, I have had

after a heart attack and stent fitted in August 2023, was still getting chest pain. On the 19th December 2023 had another angiogram found another blockage 99 per cent they had missed. Tried to put a stent in but after a hour and a half was unsuccessful. Had a lot of chest pain afterwards. Was kept in

Heart Attack with unobstructed arteries
Hi all, I had a heart attack and a left ventricle thrombus at a young age. There is some mild narrowing in one of my arteries but I didn’t have a stent. I just wondered if anyone was in same boat and whether you had a confirmed cause/reason for it happening?

switching meds
I have really bad RLS. I took pramiprexole and had every side effect. I went through augmentation and went through horrible withdrawal. I did try gabapentin when I was on the DAs and felt super doped up in the morning. I ended up stopping taking it. After I got of the DAs I tried without meds hoping

Rampiril, half a 1.25mg tablet & a 1.25mg bisoprolol. Why the Rampiril ? 🤣
I wonder why I’m on such a small, fiddly dose of Rampiril? My bisoprolol was lowered from 3.75mg to 1.25 last September and the half 1.25mg Rampiril added. My BP is always 107-115 over 68-75 , resting heart rate 44-49 bpm. Been running 5k 3 times a week plus other activities. 7 months months post CABG

Cardio and thyroidism
5and a half years ago I suffered a heart attack. I had a stent implanted and went to cardio rehab. I have noticed over the last year I get tired quickly and have shortage of breath. I was shocked to be told by my new doctor that I have an underactive thyroid. My question is this! Is my heart contributing

Support For Partners Of Those Who Have Had Heart Attacks
I had a heart attack whilst i was on my own at home. I had just sat down to watch tv and was having a dip of JD & coke when i developed a pain in my chest. I thought it was indegestion as i hadn't eaten very well that day, but then i got pain in my wrist that spread to my hand. This was the alarm bell

Waiting time between MIR and results
I was diagnosed with coronary heart disease, some years ago and put on a collection of medication. I was sent to have an angiogram, where it was found I had 90% blockage in one artery. I was then sent to have an MIR scan for more investigation which may, it was said, lead to further treatment including
