Rampiril, half a 1.25mg tablet & a 1.25mg bisoprolol. Why the Rampiril ? 🤣

I wonder why I’m on such a small, fiddly dose of Rampiril? My bisoprolol was lowered from 3.75mg to 1.25 last September and the half 1.25mg Rampiril added. My BP is always 107-115 over 68-75 , resting heart rate 44-49 bpm. Been running 5k 3 times a week plus other activities. 7 months months post CABG/Nstemi, aged 61. Anyone else had experience of such a low dose prescription ?

Hi DWizza, that does seem strange as I thought Ramipril was a medication for high blood pressure. My blood pressure is roughly the same as yours and heart rate and they halved my bisoprolol to 1.25mg from 2.5mg. Recently BP really low diagnosed vasovagul syncope and Ranolazine added, but that's to open blood vessels for pain. Hope you find out why it's been prescribed and that everything is going well 👍 :-)

Best ask your doc. I stopped taking my Ramipril after 8 months because of the dry cough it gave me. When I told my doc, she wasn’t fazed and made some comment about not needing it, and she put me on some blood pressure tablets which was odd as my BP is perfect. I ended up stopping those too, but still take my Bisoprolol.

Best to ask doctor I think.

I'm on 2.5 and 2.5 for those two. I do get a bit lightheaded or spaced out at times even though it's a low dose(?).

But I'm going to carry on taking them as prescribed in the belief they are doing my good and stopping me from having another HA.

Hi, I am fairly new here. Diagnosed 10 days ago. Still in a bit of shock.

I am on 2.5mg bisoprolol and ramipril. Yes, my BP is low-ish around 95 to 118 systolic and 59 to 69 diastolic.

I am awaiting a Cardiac MRI and contact from the community HF nurse.
